From Yahoo. Doesn't help much. Any updates from someone watching the game?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—New Orleans running back Reggie Bush left Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers with a knee injury.

It was not clear when Bush was injured, and the Saints announced he would not return to the game shortly after the start of the second half.

Bush had 55 yards on nine carries, caught one pass for 5 yards, and had a 3.5 average on three punt returns against Carolina.

Saint's Homers. Anything on this yet?

Nothing yet. The fact that he never came back out when the offense sorely needed him speaks volumes though.

He lost his shoe on the same leg during the runback and that appears to be the reason he wound up hurt.

Perhaps the injury isn't serious at all and he just stayed in the locker room looking for his shoe.

ESPn's story is similar but not saying surgery yet

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- New Orleans running back Reggie Bush will not travel with the Saints to London following Sunday's loss to Carolina, instead heading to Alabama to have his left injured knee examined.

Bush is expected to see Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., coach Sean Payton said. The Saints believe Bush has injured the meniscus in his left knee and won't be able to play San Diego in Wembley Stadium next week.

"I think our plan is to have him evaluated in Birmingham, right from here, so he won't make the trip," Payton said.

Bush injured his left knee on a punt return late in the first half. He reversed field on his run, which ended when he stepped out of bounds on the Carolina sideline. He seemed to pull up a bit and favor his left leg after that.

Bush

Reggie Bush tore the meniscus in his left knee Sunday. He will have arthroscopic surgery and isn't expected back for 3-4 weeks, according to CBS' Charley Casserly. Profootballtalk.com reports Bush could miss up to six weeks.

New Orleans has a Week 9 bye, so if Bush recovers on the optimistic end of Casserly's estimate he'd only miss two games. An MRI Bush will undergo Monday should give us a better picture. Deuce McAllister will likely start against San Diego in Week 8 and at Atlanta in Week 10. Pierre Thomas will also see an increase in carries and likely dominate third-down work. It sounds like Bush should be 100% by the fantasy playoffs. He's dealt with knee trouble since Week 1 and it's a good thing he's getting it taken care of now. Oct. 19 - 5:27 pm et
