Wes Welker

If you have a bum knee and you are going up against the ravens defense, would you want to play? My money is that he's out again but it's the Patriots so don't expect anything that says so one way or another.

According to Yahoo FF he was at practice Wed:

Wed, Sep 30

Welker, who has missed the last two games with a knee injury, was at practice Wednesday, the Boston Globe reports.

Recommendation: We suspect he will be listed as a limited participant Wednesday and as questionable Friday, but it remains to be seen how close he is to playing after being a game-time decision -- and scratch -- in Week 3.

Wes was present for the media portion of practice and was limited in practice.

A broad thought is that he possibly could have played last week against the Falcons (why risk it)

but was held out because he will be needed more this week against the Ravens.

I expect him to play....watch for his participation the rest of the week

and I wouldn't be surprised to see him listed as Questionable, but play...

Oh, you know he will be listed as questionable regardless of the truth. That's the only thing I know for sure.

I do agree with you though, I think he plays this week.

if they want to win the game they will have both welker and edleman in there with moss and galloway in 5 reciever sets. (along with watson). they wont run the ball against the ravens like they did against atlanta.

Beat writer Mike Reiss would not be surprised if Wes Welker was "shut down" around the Patriots Week 8 bye for cleanup on his injured knee.

Reiss' hunch is that Welker is dealing with swelling in his knee, and it's not a good sign that it happened so early in the season. He makes it clear that he's speculating, but the Patriots would want Welker to return to full health later in the season. The knee issue isn't going away on its own, so a minor scope makes sense. Welker owners should be protecting themselves with Julian Edelman as a handcuff.

Wes Welker (knee) and Randy Moss (back) were both present for the start of Patriots practice Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Schefter didn't clarify Welker's status otherwise, and he'll remain a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with Baltimore.

Absolutely amazing. An internet report speculating that a player will be shut down 4 weeks from now.

I noticed that too. I'm hoping it was just a typo and that they were speculating that he could be shutdown until after their week 8 bye. At least that would be more relevant right now.
