FWmaker
So, along w/ my Weber Kettle Charcoal grill, I've got a Weber Genesis B propane grill. Well, after a few years, the flavorizer bars have rusted through and need to be replaced. On ebay, I can find the stainless steel replacements (staying away from porcelain-enamel) and a bunch of people championing their own version of a heavier gauge stainless version. Anyone ever used or heard of using these? Pros/cons?

Anyone ever used or heard of using these? Pros/cons? Never heard of the 3rd party variety, but I'm still on my original SS ones (~4-5 years) . Weber guarantees them for 5 years. The porcelain may last 3 years, but that's the max.
Kid Cid
I'm on year 9 with my original SS bars but they are starting to show signs of wear. I've never heard of the third party stuff. If you go that route, please report back about how they look, feel, work, etc.

FWmaker
just ordered an OEM stainless steel set. Scoob's Hubby - these are the bars underneath the grilling surface. I'm not planning to scrub these down.

Kid Cid
How often should these bars be replaced?? And why?? Only when needed and because they eventually rust out and fall apart.
Swiss Cheezhead
always be invested in a good grill brush and clean before and after. I know not of what you speak. Someone please explain what brushing/cleaning has to do with grilling. Either Scooby's Hubby is blaspheming or "grill brush" is code for "beer" and "clean" is code for "drink."
