Scooby's Hubby
I am high on Jordy this year, but how much of my expectations should be tempered down b/c Finley will be healthier? Was Jordy's rise in stats due to Finley's injury and if Finley is healthy this year, will Nelson still get his numbers? I am looking for 60+ catches. Please advise... I don't see it, barring injury to either Finley or a WR. Finley caught 45 passes last year without Finley around. Now Finley will be back and GB added Cobb in the draft. Don't get me wrong, I like Nelson and think he's a solid maturing WR. But there are a lot of mouths to feed in GB, and Finley and Jennings get more of Rodgers' love than any of the others. After those two, you have to divvy up the numbers between Nelson, Cobb, Driver, possibly Jones, and a RB - likely Green. 60+ catches looks awfully optimistic to me. Just not enough receptions to go around.after the top 2 guys take 140+ off the board.

I've never been high on Finely for the mere fact that he's a glass house. Now that both knees have sustained decent injuries, I think GB will be reluctant to make a work horse out of him. I think Nelson (even with the drops last year) showed he can make for a great possession receiver but his highlight late in the season showed he can stretch the field as well. Me honestly, I see Finely sliding more and more and he continues to get injured and I think Nelson will continue to grow. James Jones wasn't the fit they had hoped for and Nelson showed that he could be that needed fit to compliment Jennings. Me, personally, think Nelson has a breakout year. piratesownninjas
Jordy Nelson had more drops in 2010 than James Jones. To assume either take over Driver's spot next year is a gamble. I think Nelson, Jones, or Driver getting 60 receptions will be a reach. Nelson isn't a for sure no.3 WR on the offense yet. Jennings is the go to guy. Behind him, Rodgers will make Finley his no.2 target. Then it's a craps shoot. Best case scenario is Nelson being the no.3 target on the team. I think he'll be over drafted this year. bpwallace49
Dont forget that with Grant/Starks/ Green you will see a more balanced attack that may shiftthe balance of run versus pass attempts in 2011. they had NO running game for most of the year. If Finley is healthy (and that is a big if) he was the focal point of the passing attack, and will be split out as ofetn as he stays in line as a blocker. Jennings is by far the #32, then whoever else is open. Driver still has some left in the tank, and Jordy WILL get looks, but that will also depend if James Jones walks. If Jones leaves, I can see 50 receptions. But it will NOT be consistent. If Finley goes down again, I would bump that up to the 60-70 range for receptions. I did like how confident Rodgers was looking his way later in the season, and he really exploded in the Super Bowl in a big way . . . Clubfoothead
I think I subscribe to the only so many balls to go around theory and tend to agree you are going to need an injury to another skill player to get 60 catches out of him.

Big John
was James Jones ever tendered? I don't remember the team every actually announcing it, tho Jones did, but I never saw a confirmation of Jones' supposed statement. The Packers did not announce their tenders, but Jones said he received a tender
