Have you ever won your league

I've won my local four times in nine years, so I'm trying that this year. 12-team, no-ppr, roster:

QB: Romo, no backup

RB: AP, DMc, SJax, Lynch, Ridley

WR: Bowe, Britt, AJGreen, Greg Little, Jason Hill

TE: optional, none

very small bench, starters

STUD team (if it was a PPR ) still very good team though ,, I have never played in a non-PPR league before

2 Seasons ago I drafted (16 team league, start 2 QB, also return yards):

1. (13) Aaron Rodgers (GB - QB)

2. (20) Andre Johnson (Hou - WR)

3. (45) David Garrard (Jac - QB)

4. (52) Chad Ochocinco (NE - WR)

5. (77) Darren Sproles (NO - RB)

6. (84) Steve Breaston (KC - WR)

7. (109) Donald Brown (Ind - RB)

8. (116) Jamaal Charles (KC - RB)

9. (141) LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB)

10. (148) Johnnie Lee Higgins (Phi - WR)

11. (173) Jerome Harrison (Det - RB)

12. (180) Brent Celek (Phi - TE)

Ignoring DEF and K (took them in rounds 13 and 14), the bolded names are players I finished the year with, and won the league. Breaston was replaced by Britt, and Higgins was replaced by Forsett

I must assume that in a 16 team 2QB league that you have a rule that a team may not draft a 3rd QB until they fill required roster ??

Holy crap... 16 team 2 QB league is INSANE! I'm in a 12 man 2 QB league and the few who get the top QB's tend to dominate. I can only imagine that the ones who get the top 5 are just insanely dominant in a 16 team league.

Not only that, but there's no such thing as a startable backup, with all 32 starting QBs starters there too... No offense, but I could not imagine a 2QB league with more than 10 teams... It only creates QB hoarding and desperation for those who can't.

Interesting conversation... I've made the playoffs and super bowl usually with largely the same roster (or at least the same core, and have seen plenty of others do this too), but my lone championship was the year Jamal Charles was a waiver-wire darling and I made some solid trades to fill holes...

With increased injuries nowadays, it seems that being WW and trade savvy can be even more of a necessity, and I might even go as far as to say that a couple of solid handcuffs for insurance might not be the waste of a roster spot many make them out to be (assuming that you don't have to pass on a great prospect to do it).... All I know is I can't stand when another team is putting up huge points at the expense of my big injury...

I turnover my roster quite a bit during the season. More thru the waiver wire then trades. I'm that guy who picks up and drops players alot especially towards the end of the year. Usually have just a couple of players left from the auction. It's tough with so many busts and injuries everyyear.

In 2000, I was in a 10-team league with guys at work and won the championship without making a single move all season. I wish I had the roster but the league wasn't online -- commissioner tabulated points from the newspaper box scores. I remember Jamal Lewis was on my team because it was his rookie year. I don't know how I made it through bye weeks, but I must have done it somehow. I switched jobs and we moved from Arizona to New York that fall, so about the most time I had to devote to my team was to submit my weekly lineup. Someday I'll have to try to dig up that roster.

I have been playing FF since 1989 and have NEVER won it all with the same drafted team. I've come close but made a couple moves. I think more often then not, it takes some moves to make it happen as things are constantly changing with injuries and such.

In the WCFF super satellite a couple of years ago I drafted the team that won me the total points lead and league championship.

I drafted the right players and nobody got injured. That doesn't happen very often. I was just noticing the turnover even on on my dynasty team is just unreal.

Not even close, and I've had some good drafts. Not Brentastic good, mind you. But good.

This does remind me of something I've wanted to a draft only league. Maybe with one waiver draft at midseason where people could trade in as many guys in as they wanted. You start your entire team every week.

Sort of like a March Madness pool where you just set it up and hope for the best.

Ha! Found the Excel attachment in an email on my old PC.

From the 2000 season:

QBs: Kurt Warner, Steve Beuerlein, Troy Aikman

RBs: Fred Taylor, Jamal Lewis, Jamal Anderson, Richard Huntley

WRs: Antonio Freeman, Rod Smith, Qadry Ismail, Tony Martin

TEs: Wesley Walls, Dave Moore

K: Matt Stover, Jeff Wilkins

D: Broncos, Packers

We started only eight players, so I guess that's how I won it all. I finished with most points and a 9-4 record. Go figure.

The rule in place is that you can only have QBs from 2 teams. Also, the 2nd QB spot is actually a Q/W/R/T spot, so you don't have to start 2 QBs every week (or ever), and this also helps greatly with bye weeks.

The thing is ( for those of us old enough to remember ) when we 1st started playing FF there were no trades or WW pick up during the year.

You drafted your team ,,, TD's , Yards & FG's only counted

At half time ( after 8 weeks ) then you could do add drops and some leagues allowed trades but only during halftime when add/drops were allowed.

Leagues were won by total points ,, no H2H

At least that's the way I remember it ,,,, the sports section of the news paper was your bible ( no ESPN )
