darin3
I've had some requests to add some explanations as to where players are ranked on a weekly basis. So I'll hand-pick a few from each position group and will offer some information as to why they've been slotted where they are. If you have any "special requests", feel free to utilize this thread to start conversation on other players' rankings. Defensive Line Justin Tuck (DE - NYG): By all accounts it sounds like the stinger isn't giving him much problem so he should be good to go on Monday night. The Giant pass rush should be all over Sam Bradford. Jason Pierre-Paul (DE - NYG): Has shot up the rankings, from pre-season 'til now, based on a few things. One, and most importantly, Osi Umenyiora's injury. Second, Tuck's injury. And third, the guy is scary good. Phil Taylor (DT - CLE): Last season is was Ahtyba Rubin, this season it could be Taylor. He had 5 solos against Cincy last week and we like the prospects of the inside pass rush vs. the Colts this week. Michael Bennett (DE - TBB): Has taken the starting spot from DaQuan Bowers (who will still see time) and we like the matchup. Carlos Dunlap / Michael Johnson (DE - CIN): Dunlap's knee could be bothering him and Johnson had an interesting stat line last week (3 pass breakups, but only 1 tackle). We're expecting Dunlap to play better but Johnson's the slightly better play. .... will get to LBs and DBs shortly
XFlash
Awesome work Darin. Hopefully something more on CAR LB. Beason was great, but will Connor productive or will Thomas Davis steal the show?

darin3
Sorry it's been a crazy couple of days. If y'all are still up and reading - or up early to check your lineups... here are a few more notes on why folks landed where they're at. Demarcus Ware - A little higher than normal with the vanilla Alex Smith at QB for the Niners. I think Ware could go off tomorrow. TB LBs - All bumped with AP likely to carry the ball like... 50 times? London Fletcher - Minor bump-down with the Cards likely opening up the offense through the air a bit more this week. Clay Matthews - Small bump-up with Cam Newton perhaps with a bit too much confidence in holding the ball. Reality check for the Panther offense. Brian Dawkins - Bump-up as the vet facing a potentially mistake-prone offense. Jason McCourty - I'm liking the tackle opps this week. That's about it... we'll get this up and the conversation a bit deeper next week. Good luck folks.
Big John
Tramon Williams is still hurt and has been put on the inactive list.
