Kinfrox
Hi everyone! Hopefully someone can help me out with something. I am the commissioner of a league and everyone is angry at a move I recently made with Adrian Peterson which in my view was completely legitimate! So an owner in my league who had Adrian Peterson as his "keeper" dropped him earlier this week. I then picked him up with the intention of keeping him the next two years. Everyone is saying that I can't do that! Nobody has any valid reason other than "he was someone else's keeper". Well, in my view as soon as you drop your keeper... He is no longer yours and is fair game! Am I wrong here? Please help! Thank you!
Grits and Shins
What you think and what the other owners think is not enough to make a determination, what do you rules stipulate?
Kinfrox
We never really set forth any rules for this situation. Is there a standard set of rules that most follow for this sort of thing or does it vary league to league? Thanks!
TonyBromo
I was under the impression that generally your keeper has to be somebody you draft?

There is no such thing as a "standard set of rules" ... each set of owners establishes their own rules. Sounds like your group of owners didn't put enough thought into your rules. IrishPride
In our league if you drop he is waiver or FA and goes to whoever gets him. We also consider undrafted FA's as last round or second to last because we keep 2.
flemingd
Post your rules as they are written! I find it hard to believe the rules don't spell this out!
stevegrab
Love all these guys who think everything is spelled out in you rules. We don't have contracts for keepers or lose a draft pick for a keeper based on where they were drafted. Barring a rule that prohibits this move or the OP taking some special action as commissioner to pickup AP, its just sour grapes by the other owners. If somebody drops AP, Rice or Gordon he's fair game for any owner to add and keep.
