  1. Just for the record, the guy has a .250 winning percentage. If a baseball player hit .250 for his career, he'd be waived or demoted. In no sport is .250 an acceptable average for success. Millen is a joke. Plain and simple. Other teams won't even deal with him any more. If you want to make the Lions successful, follow the lead of the Tigers - bring in veteran players of high character to provide support, build up a productive youth development system, and get an experienced coach to put you on a five year track to success.
  2. Classic Seriously though, any reason WHY the Panthers will be better next year? They look pretty entrenched in mediocrity with the contracts they've setup - they're aging fast, not a lot of consistent youth growth on that team...
  3. That's always a good sign - "I didn't care, but I'll care about the next one..." I'd bet Griese would've cared enough to prep for all of his games if he were starting. What a bunch of freakin crap.
  4. I was watching the MIA/BUF game while playing the AirPlay live play-predicting game on my cell. How do you get shutout by Buffalo? Even in Buffalo, that's sad. There's just no excuse - it's play like this that keeps Miami from even going to the playoffs, much less winning the AFC - for the last two decades.
  5. The NFL desperately needs to establish a clear and public rubric for penalties, similar to the NBAs, that has set minimums and flexibility to meet the situation. You can't find any sort of rhyme or reason when looking at the penalties given to Chad Johnson, Michael Vick, Haynesworth, and T.O. The numbers are arbitrary, don't make sense, and make rule enforcement way too difficult.
  6. LT2 in a heartbeat. I think there are a few QBs who could throw to Indy's WRs with such zest and success. There's something about LT2 that allows him to do superhuman things that other RBs just can't. Plus, watching LT2 is like watching lightning strike over and over again. I've been watching a lot of football while playing my Airplay play-predicting game on my cell phone - LT2 has such a field presence that I just haven't seen before. Peyton Manning can get hot, but half the time it just looks like he's fishing, waiting for the play to emerge. LT2 makes the plays.
  7. If the Bengals make it to the first round of the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl, it will be bizarre enough.
  8. +1 to this. if you watch Romo's picks, and watch the Saints secondary, every look Romo made was anticipated, and the Saints D-Line had their number as well. Romo hasn't seen looks like that yet, and Romo hasn't dealt with a defense that has prepared so specifically for him. Romo and the Tuna both need to adjust.
  9. There are actually a surprising number of candidates for this award this year. My top 5 picks: 1. S. Payton 2. Mangini 3. Fisher 4. Holmgren 5. Billick
  10. I'm crossing my fingers for Ocho Cinco. Madden people also like to match up the featured player with a new game feature. Culpepper - precision passing, Ray Lewis - hit stick, Shaun Alexander - truck stick. Maybe there's a new wide receiver function?
  11. I've been watching a lot of football while playing my new live real-time play predicting game on my cell phone. It's hard for me to see NE, BAL, and IND not making the playoffs. They've hit a couple of hurdles lately, but their consistency throughout the year has been amazing. KC is on its way to a late season meltdown, and it is a long time coming, since their o-line can't take this much longer (see - making the Browns defense look good). That means Denver will sneak into the wild card, SD will slide into the AFC West title, and I will take the Jets as the other AFC wild card. These are the strongest, most consistent teams right now in the NFL. But everything will pretty much be resolved by Week 15 - two more games will make or break these seasons. Week 17 will be what it always is.
  12. As long as I don't have to see an advertisement with Peyton Manning wearing a wig and singing "This Is Our Country" while selling Mastercards, I'll be okay. Let him make his money. Dignity: priceless
  13. Also, dropping Brendan Jacobs with Tiki retiring? Maybe not the best option...
  14. Second Manc68 on Johnson, although I see him having keeper value at some point as possible trade bait if Carr goes. I think you have a dilemna with Brady, Young, and neither. Brady is still suffering from a lack of quality WRs, a re-loading o-line, and a revitalized running game. Young has looked solid in Tennessee, and has talent around him for next year, but it's too soon to tell if he's going to repeat. I say if you're auto eliminated anyway and are going to have an early draft position, keep that extra bit of flexibility.
