keggerz
Chargers | Smith confirms Edwards on the trading block Fri, 14 Apr 2006 06:46:54 -0700 Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers general manager A.J. Smith confirmed LB Donnie Edwards is available in trade, except for the team's AFC West opponents. Smith would not confirm what might pry Edwards away, but it is a good bet a first-day draft pick would accomplish it. At the very minimum, his being shopped appears to be confirmation Edwards will not be getting the long-term contract he desires in San Diego and will be let go after this season. Sure, Merriman is good, but is a different kind of LB than Edwards. Edwards still has several good years in him, IMO.

darin3
You claim to be a Bears fan. 1420631[/snapback] Can't be a fan of more than one team? C'mon, Big John, this should be ingrained in your database: parents are from Chicago and I grew up on Chicago sports (Cubs, Bears, Bulls). Still have tremendous love for the Bears. But growing up in SoCal, I learned to HATE the Rams and the Raiders, and gained admiration for the Bolts.
