Matt Ryan or Dak Prescott

This is an honest question, did Aikman not put up huge numbers?  I know he had emmitt smith but that team was stacked

Aikman was a great NFL QB but in fantasy, he stunk. He threw 23 TDs in his best season. Most of the time it's below 20.

Dak's numbers are much better so I was just being a wise-ass but he hasn't bested his rookie season TDs and TD-INT ratio yet. Maybe he'll throw for 4000yds for the first time this season ... he has Cooper now but then again, he had Dez and pre-retired Witten  before.

Yes but Yesterday’s NFL was not the passing league it is today.

Very true. 25+TD pass and 4000 yds is tops in the league back then. Now we sneer at  Andy Dalton's 27 TD season.  Even so, aside from his best season, Aikman has never really cracked the fantasy QB top-10.

Agree. But that doesn't take away from his disappointing efficiency. His TD/interception ratio was terrible.

Well yes if there were less TD passes thrown in his day, naturally his TD/INT ratio will reflect.

in comparison we have guys today hitting 35/15 numbers and that is stellar. Something like 20/13 used to be a norm and we didn’t think twice about the ability of the QB in those days.

We shouldn't correlate old school players with modern day standard. The numbers will deceive  you.

The bottom line is that Aikman was a winner regardless of stats.
