  1. I need to pick two keepers. I am in an Auction, keeper league with .5 points per reception and normal scoring for all other positions. The auction starts with $200 minus whatever keeper you pick. I am choosing between the following: Jimmy Graham at $39 Jamaal Charles at $51 Shane Vereen at $15 Doug Martin at $23 My first thought was to keep Graham and Martin for the simple reason they are the bell cows of their respective offenses and will get large amounts of touches. However, I have been thinking that spending $51 on Charles does limit my ability to get quality players later in the Auction....am I over thinking this or does anyone have a better combo?
  2. Hey Folks, Requesting some keeping advice here: I have my draft Monday night; 10 teams, $200 auction, and up to 3 keepers at the value below I can tell you that most of the top RBs will be kept (AP, Charles, Lacy, Martin included) Drew Brees - $45 Ben Tate - $2 Le'Veon Bell - $8 Julio Jones - $29 Colin Kaepernick - $15 Josh Gordon - $7 Ryan Matthews - $17 Blair Walsh - $1 Victor Cruz - $25 Greg Olsen - $6 I'm think about keeping 3 of the following 4 Bell (8) Tate (2) Jones (29) Kaepernick (15) I'm afriad for Bell due to his arrest, but I got him for a steal. I wish I knew if Gordon was out for the year because him at 7 was a deal as well. I'm not sure about Kaepernick because he may go cheap anyways with only 10 teams. Thanks in Advance!
  3. I am in a 10 team keeper league. It's a $300 auction with and option to keep up to 3 players. $300 budget includes 3 IDP spots and 10 bench spots. Other than that it's ESPN standard lineup. I have Matt Forte as a keeper for $49 Here are my other options. Let me know what you all think. Rashad Jennings - $ 18 CJ spiller - $16 Monte Ball - $33 Keenan Allen - $ 13 Percy harvin - $ 5 Michael Floyd - $ 6 RG3 - $ 19 Josh Gordon -$7 (suspension pending)
  4. The Huddle is a fantastic website and I happily renewed my subscription this year, but it's time for the writers to get with the times! Who actually does a snake draft anymore? The same people grilling with charcoal? Please post here asking The Huddle to integrate Average Auction Value (AAV) into their drafting analysis. I'd recommend either a $100 or $200 budget or even just a % of budget as they do for a few of their rankings. The Fantasy Football world has evolved to auctions and its time The Huddle follows suit! Thank you. Off the soap box now...
  5. $500 auction with two keepers at previous year's draft value + $10. Most top tier RB's are kept, so the ones in the draft go for a lot of money. The only RB1's available in last years draft were Foster and Rice, which both went for $128. Here are my options and what they would cost against my $500 budget: Lesean McCoy for $106 Dez Bryant $52 Le'Veon Bell $14 Forte $103 Julius Thomas $10 Harvin $10 Which Two? Wish I could keep them all for $295.
  6. 14 teams, $250 cap. PPR, decimal scoring, all TDs 6. I am definitely keeping Russell Wilson for $11 and Keenan Allen for $8. I can keep two others. Who do you like from this list? RB J. Bell $14 RB Morris $66 RB Ridley $26 RB Woodhead $18 WR D. Baldwin $6 WR Boldin $22 WR Garcon $38 WR James Jones $13 WR Wallace $26
  7. Ok here are my scenarios/teams/keepers: We do a auction salary league, players cost their avg (10 pts = $1), you can match the highest bid in the auction draft for a player that was on your team. We have $4 Franchise Tag (keep any player for $4) and a $6 mini cap. ($) RBs: Reggie Bush (1.8) Alfred Morris (1.7) Lamar Miller (.9) Donald Brown (1) Dennis Johnson (.3) Christine Michael (.2) WRs: Alshon Jeffery (1.5) Demaryius Thomas (1.5) Keenan Allen (1) Julio Jones (.5) Dwayne Bowe (.7) TEs: Julius Thomas (1) Charlies Clay (.9) Rob Housler (.3) Dennis Pitta (.2) Scenarios: 1: Alfred Morris or Reggie Bush Alshon Jeffery Demaryius Thomas Keenan Allen Lamar Miller Julio Jones Dennis Johnson (other .3 player) Dennis Pitta (other .2 player) 2: Reggie Bush Alfred Morris Alshon Jeffery Demaryius Thomas Julio Jones Dennis Johnson (other .3 player) Rob Housler (other .2 player) Christine Michael (other .2 player) I initially leaned towards Scenario 1 and plan to re sign Bush and Julius Thomas, feeling that Alfred Morris would fetch a higher auction price than Bush... Thanks!!! p.s. i lost in the championship... we tied 123-123 and lost our tiebreaker (head to head, total season points, season record) (lost all 3))
  8. This is more a genreal question, standard auction league 12 man 2rec/ppr. What is your strat? do you spend big on 3-4 players or spread the wealth on your starting roster? I have always been someone who likes to compile a nice even keel team, and have good back ups.. i am trying to apply your standard auction strategy to my dynasty keeper league auction draft coming up. I have a morris, md, r bush, julio jones, d thomas, d bowe and a jeffrey. jamal charles and brandon marshal are avail but if i go for one it will leave with me next to nothing to get other players. My team is set wirh rb and wrs but the appeal to get charles or marshall is to much and i can fill out my roster in our rookie/left over FA draft but i have always been one to draft/spend on a bunch of good players and let the big names go away. i think charles is to enticing not to bid but how far do it go? do i spend as much as i can and save just enough to fill out my roster? brandon marshall would leave me with the an amazing WR roster, do i spend a lot on him instead, he should go for a good amount less than charles, which would allow me to prob re sign matt ryan. appreciate the thoughts. thanks!
  9. So last year my team was pretty much the doormat of the league. Had Charles and Hightower. Charles got busted. Hightower underperformed, and then got busted. Had Schaub too. Pretty much the only bright spot on my team was Dez Bryant, but the keeper value on him was too high. So I started pretty much from scratch. My strategy was to go for quality depth, with a few sleeper picks in there. This is my roster now. QB: Ben Roethlisberger, Russell Wilson RB: Doug Martin, Shonn Greene, Willis McGahee, Cedric Benson, and Isaac Redman WR: Reggie Wayne, Torrey Smith, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Brandon LaFell TE: Jacob Tamme K: Hartley DEF: Denver Open to any advice you guys might have on how to improve my position, but please don't be an idiot. It's a 16 team league with keepers.
  10. League scoring: .25 pts per completion, 6 pts passing td, 1 pt per 25 passing yards, -2 per interception, -1 per sack, 1 PPR Auction league, $200 budget, up to 3 keepers. I am positively keeping J. Nelson and D. Sproles, each will only cost $6. I can keep P. Manning for $24, M. Ryan for $25, or neither. Another guy in my league has both Brady and Stafford and will not keep both, so one of those elites will be available. All the other tier 1 QBs (Rodgers, Brees, Newton) are being kept. I know my league has favorable scoring for QBs, but is it worth it to pay $45+ for Brady/Stafford? I think Ryan could be in for a huge year, and what if Manning is still his old self? Thank you in advance for your advice!
