The best WR in NFL history is going to announce his retirement from the NFL at an 1:30 eastern time press conference today.

 

Rice Stats:

Years - 21

Games - 303

Receptions - 1549

Yards - 22895

Rec. TD's - 197

Total TD's - 207

I really think he should get an automatic bid into the Hall. Why should he have to wait 5 years? Just like Gretztky in Hockey, they have a 3 year waiting list before eligibility, but they waived it and he was in the same year he retired. I don't see why they can't waive that rule in this case.

One stat you'll never hear about but is just amazing --- he only lost 10 fumbles in his career.

His 11th came in the 1999 NFC wildcard game vs. the Packers on the final drive, which ended with a Terrell Owens TD that should've never happened. Rice fumbled, but got the non-call because the immortal Jerry Rice never fumbles. :D
