KevinL
Obviously this takes into account the existing rosters of these teams in the ConFusion league. I just thought I would post it here also for public viewing / ridicule. Just don't call me Mel Kiper. 1.01 Beaumont - Reggie Bush, RB, NO With T Bell as his only RB backing up Larry Johnson, Beau is definitely going RB here. The question is Bush or Addai. I'm guessing Bush. 1.02 DKF - Joseph Addai, RB, IND I almost had DKF going for need here and picking the TE Davis. He already has Tomlinson & McGahee. But DKF is a veteran to this, and how often will he have a top pick? DKF gets the Colts RB of the future. (Or will he trade down?) 1.03 jgcoach - Deangelo Williams, RB, CAR jg definitely needs a RB here, with only J Lewis on his roster. 1.04 Selly - LenDale White, RB, TEN Another team desperate for RB help. White looks to be more of a factor in TEN than Maroney will be behind Dillon. 1.05 Darin - Matt Leinart, QB, ARI Darin's team is pretty solid. His need is WR and there are none worth drafting this high. Best use of his pick is to secure Leinart as his only QB are Warner & Orton. Possibility for him to trade down? 1.06 Piranha - Laurence Maroney, RB, NE With the first of his 3 first rounders, Piranha will grab the backup to his #1 RB Dillon. 1.07 Fatman - AJ Hawk, LB, GB Fatman knows the value of a stud LB, already having Vilma & Bulluck on his roster. 1.08 Piranha - Mario Williams, DL, HOU Piranha goes for need here and grabs the #1 NFL pick in pass-rusher Mario Williams. 1.09 Fatman - Vernon Davis, TE, SF Fatman's only TE is Putzier. He could use a stud like Davis and is lucky he slipped so far. 1.10 Perch - Michael Huff, DB, OAK Perch really needs offense, but the RB are long gone and none of the WR really warrant such a high pick, so he goes with the Texan on his way to Oakland where he is sure to make a bunch of tackles. 1.11 KevinL - Kameron Wimbley, DL, CLE Kevin is a Browns homer. Having addressed his main need in the Joe Horn trade, he begins restocking his defense with the Willie McGinist clone. 1.12 XFlash - Vince Young, QB, TEN XFlash has a pretty solid team but only 1 starting QB (Vick). He starts his draft with another running QB. 1.13 RWings - Chad Jackson, WR, NE RWings need is at WR and none have been taken yet. Of course the first NFL WR didn't go until 1.25. RWings skips him and selects the Patriot, expecting Brady to share the ball more. 1.14 Piranha - Santonio Holmes, WR, PIT Piranha continues the run on WR with yet another first round pick. 1.15 DKF - Marcedes Lewis, TE, JAC DKF goes need here and grabe the best TE on the board. 1.16 Apathy - Ernie Sims, LB, DET Even after the Thurman trade, Apathy needs to solidify his D and grabs the 2nd LB drafted and a top 10 NFL pick. pokerdonk
Very interesting. I'm seeing Addai at 1.02 a lot on other sites. Whoever is getting Maroney at 1.06 is getting an outright steal!
keggerz
darin should have traded down 1 spot...he could have sold a bill of goods on how he was looking at taking maroney and i am sure he would have hooked piranah at that point
KevinL
Round 2 2.01 Perch - Sinorce Moss, WR, NYG Having gone defense in round 1, Perch takes the top remaining offensive player. 2.02 Selly - Chad Greenway, LB, MIN It's too early for Omar Jacobs so Selly nabs the LB from Iowa. 2.03 jgcoach - Jay Cutler, QB, DEN JG was thinking DL here but he can probably get similar talent at 2.07 so he steals the future Bronco QB. 2.04 Juan - Haloti Ngata, DL, BAL Skinny hispanics draft the big nosetackle. If Ray Lewis likes him, why shouldn't Juan. 2.05 Darin - Greg Jennings, WR, GB Darin reads DMD's article and grabs the "very complete wideout with no weaknesses" 2.06 Beaumont - Bobby Carpenter, LB, DAL Beaumont builds his "dynasty" by stocking up on LB. 2.07 jgcoach - Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, NYG As expected, JG fills a hole in his D-line. Somewhat surprising since other DL were chosen earlier, but JG sees the potential. 2.08 Nick - Donte Whitner, S, BUF By now we all know Whitner was a reach at 1.08. But Nick needs some help in his defensive backfield and Whitner is the best safety remaining. 2.09 Beaumont - Brian Calhoun, RB, DET Beaumont is still trying to find a RB, and Calhoun is the best of what's left. 2.10 Suny - Leon Washington, RB, NYJ The Jets back up CuMar with LeoWas and so does suny. 2.11 KevinL - D'Qwell Jackson, LB, CLE Another pick, another homer for KevinL. With the success he had last year with rookie LB's (O Thurman, D Johnson, K Morrison), can you blame him? 2.12 Apathy - Brodrick Bunkley, DL, PHI Apathy goes defense again, this time a DT. 2.13 Rwings - Tambi Hali, DL, KC Just like the NFL draft, lots of DL being chosen in the early rounds. 2.14 Darin - DeMaco Ryans, LB, HOU Darin knows his IDP, and he knows he needs to improve his DL. What he doesn't know is if any of the DT left fit his needs. So he grabs the top LB on the board, a 4 year starter for the Crimson Tide. 2.15 Selly - Tarvaris Jackson, QB, MIN Vikings used their pick in the late 2nd to draft Brad Johnson's replacement. Selly follows suit. 2.16 Fatman - Tony Scheffler, TE, DEN Just in case the Davis pick doesn't work out in round 1, Fatman goes TE again. He got 1.11, 2.04, and WR Givens for the 1.05 pick.

KevinL
What order system did you use? 1449060[/snapback] This is actually for a real league (ConFusion IDP). We draft in reverse order of the '05 standings but there have been several trades.

KevinL
Round 3: 3.01 Perch - Jerious Norwood, RB, ATL Perch needs RB and takes a chance on Warrick Dunn's heir. 3.02 Piranha - Manny Lawson, LB, SF After 3 picks in round 1 and none in round 2, Piranha is back in the game and adds some depth at LB. 3.03 jgcoach - PJ Daniels, RB, BAL Even after adding Deangelo Williams in the 1st, team High Voltage is looking for RB. Daniels fits nicely behind Jamal Lewis. 3.04 Selly - Roger McIntosh, LB, WAS Selly takes another step towards solidifying his D by adding the Redskin LB. 3.05 Darin - Chris Gocong, DE, PHI Darin goes deep into the draft and picks his sleeper, the athletic DE from Cal Poly, filling a hole on his team for DL depth. 3.06 Piranha - Kellen Clemans, QB, NYJ With his 2nd pick of round 3, Piranha takes a flier on Clemens, hoping that Pennington's health trend continues. 3.07 Juan - Michael Robinson, WR, SF San Fran needs offense and Juan hopes it comes in the form of Robinson, converted from QB where he played at Penn State. 3.08 jgcoach - John McCargo, DL, BUF Looking for some help on the front line, JG selects the quick DT from NC State. 3.09 Beaumont - Charlie Whitehurst, QB, SD With Bulger coming off injury and Rivers unproven, Beaumont makes the safe choice and grabs the Whitehurst, whose father played QB for the Packers. 3.10 Suny - Thomas Howard, LB, OAK Suny selects the best player on the board, the athletic linebacker from UTEP. 3.11 KevinL - Jerome Harrison, RB, CLE Kevin makes a homer pick AND backs up Ruben Droughns at the same time. 3.12 X-flash - Antonio Cromartie, DB, SD Cornerbacks have been virtually ignored thus far in the draft, but X-Flash sees a need and gets great value with this pick. 3.13 Rwings - Maurice Drew, RB, JAX Aware that Drew is projected to start out as a return man, RWings gambles on Drew finding some time in the ever-changing Jacksonville RB situation. 3.14 Perch - Travis Wilson, WR, CLE Perch adds the WR from Oklahoma who figures to have a chance in Cleveland depending how quickly Braylon Edwards heals. 3.15 Kevin - Stephen Gostkowski, PK, NE After the 2 players he wanted (Drew & Wilson) are taken right in front of him, Kevin makes the surprise choice, hoping the rookie can earn Vinatieri's role for the Patriots. 3.16 Kevin - Abdul Hodge, LB, GB With the final pick in round 3, Kevin drafts yet another young LB.
