justin
As of this Sunday, 41 Superbowl Trophy's will have been awarded to 41 winning teams. However, 42 trophy's have actually been produced. For 200 points, who knows why the "extra" trophy was produced? And for an extra 100 points, who knows where the "extra" trophy currently is? Carroll Rosenbloom kept possession of his trophy when he traded Colts franchise to Bob Irsay for the Rams franchise. Irsay demanded another trophy to replace it, then litigated it back to the city of Baltimore after the Colts left town.
darin3
Um, don't they make 2 trophies just in case the one given to the SB champ is damaged in the celebration? Edit: That would account for the "extra" trophy this year... Edited February 2, 2007 by darin3

Given that Carroll Rosenbloom is dead, anyone know where either of the two Superbowl V tropies are?
xMRogers
So I'm reading this right - there's two SB V trophies for the COlts, and one belongs to the Rams and one to the Ravens/Baltimore (who both have a recent one to go with it)? NOw that's funny - and another reason why I'll be rooting against the Colts (for some reason, I've equated teh Colts/Mannign with Phil Mickelson prior to his finally winning a major - eveyrone thinks "he shoudl get oen" - why, they are choke artists and cry about it - looking forward to the Manning face as the final seconds tick off)
