yesterday funny things started to happen on my tv:

- change of font on banner (no big deal)

- type of screen changes when i change the channel (normal, wide, full screen), so the banner is partially shown and some of the picture is not on the screen

- when i enter a channel, it doesn't automatically change. it makes some void sound and then changes.

- and sometimes when the channel is changed it constantly makes a "void" sound until i hit select.

none of this occurred prior to yesterday.

anyone else having similar probs? and outside of callinging directv, any suggestions?

Bier,

Is the receiver you're having trouble with a HD one? The one I have does not have the same problems as yours but it seems slower than normal when it comes to accessing the menu/guide options or changing channels (compared to the standard receivers). I've been on DTVs forums and it seems that they are putting out s/w updates and that could be the culprit. I am not sure if this s/w updates affects all receivers or just HD ones.

My font also changed the other day. It's more of a bold Arial now.

I also noticed "Select" doesn't work when changing the channels...it gives you the error bong noise. I have to press "enter" instead now.
