Montana is da Man
I have a draft tonight, and I'm not sure what my strategy should be. I know it's hard when you don't know who will be left on the board, but I'm just looking for some insight. I have the 13th pick in a 14 team league, so all the big stud RB's will be off the board. I know I need to draft 1 RB between the 1st and 2nd round, but do I draft 2 RB's, or do I draft 1 RB and then one of the stud WR's? I don't think it would be worth a QB this early, unless Manning falls to me. Scoring system 1 pt per 15 yards receiving, 6 bonus points over 125 yards 1 pt per 20 yards rushing, 6 bonus points over 150 yards 1 pt per 40 yards passing, 6 bonus points over 300 yards passing 6 points for all TD's (passing, rushing, receiving, return) All thoughts are appreciated. Link me to your post and I'll give you my opinion.
Montana is da Man
I also get a half point per reception Thanks
Penguinsfan
hmm. I have no experience in a 14 team league or with PPR, so I'm not sure how much help I can offer, but, I think you'll still have plenty of good options at that point. Obviously it's tough to speculate who will be taken before you and that will ultimately determine your strategy. You'll probably have some 3rd tier RBs to choose from and some top tier WRs, all of whom will be gone by the next time you pick. I'd probably go with a RB and WR. However, don't get too set on one strategy and miss great value if it falls in to your lap. Cheers
mistercrinkles
I think you'd almost certainly be best off by grabbing the best available RB and best available WR in the first two rounds, doing the same thing in rounds 3 and 4. You're already losing out on a stud RB, so you might as well stud something and grab an elite WR.
irish
Yeah very tough to tell what'll be there. Just remember always draft the best available players making sure you have 2 RBs after the 4th round.

Penguinsfan
So you wouldn't even look at a QB until the 5th round? Again, tough question. You might want to consider going QB and RB w/ 3 & 4 picks in some order. Plenty of WRs to choose from later. If you wait to get one of the last QBs picked, you'll be reaching, plus your 6 pts for QB TDs is a nice bonus. It might be better to try for one of the top QBs in Rd. 3 or 4 if they're still there, IMO. Cheers
