quiveringnorm
Has he officially been named the starter in Minn? Any insight on what his value will be this year? Is 1,100 yards and 10 TD's out of the question???
Roo
No, pretty sure Taylor will start the season named as the starter. I am envisioning a full-fledged 50/50 RBBC for at least the first 6 weeks. The good news is: 1. Very easy rushing schedule 2. Solid o-line 3. Run-first offense 4. He signed a massive contract so you know they are gonna give him the rock I could see both RBs succeeded as low-end #2s, or good #3s. Peterson has far more upside though and could be a bigger contributer by second half - hence the higher price you'll pay to get Peterson. Mystykoekaki
Taylor is the starter in MN. Peterson however should see the field quite often this season, I also think that Peterson will get more TDs but again, it might be at a minimum. Good luck. Let It Ride
Whats the word on goal line carries.....if Chester is starting and they get down to the 5 in the first quarter, who do they give the rock to? Do you Vike Homers see a Chester Taylor between the 20's and Peterson getting redzone duties?

I would fully expect Peterson to get the TDs.
Chadman
I'd say your original post question looks pretty close to me. I don't think it's a stretch to think he will get a TD in 10 games, and could certainly see a big game or two for him with more than one, making 10 even more possible. I also expect him to catch the football quite a bit - getting him loose out on the wing could be devastating. He will definitely show up on SportsCenter a few times with some long runs. The 50/50 split looks pretty accurate early on, in my view. Both backs have looked very good thus far, and if they can ever get the right side of the OL halfway solid, it could be a great year for both. I look for the Vikes to scour the cut lists very closely and sign an OL-man very soon.

Peterson is a playmaker... also you forgot the WCO factor....which favors him even more..
Roo
Benson also blew his shot to impress. They gave him chances. He was a chump on the field and off - so they stuck with TJ. I think we have a different story here. (I hope)
TecmoBeast
It will not be long until Peterson takes this job, he's just too talented. He's going to make long gains out of ordinary plays, something Chester couldn't do all season except for once against Seattle. Long gains is going to be Chester's downfall. Talent will win this job early. There will definitely be fan and media critism if not. Looking at the schedule, I like the home game w4 against the Packers for Peterson to take over.
