VikesGuy
Looking for some Saints homers, I want to know what the WR outlook is for the year. Is Colston going to be 100% at the start of the season or does Henderson look more like the number 1 receiver to start the year off.
CaptainHook
isn't Henderson hurt too?
stevenmann
Henderson will start week one.. He is ok... Both will put up decent #'s. Colston will be targeted more, But Henderson will have a HUGE game here and there. He's a great bye week fill in at best
CaptainHook
He's a great bye week fill in at best I hope he's better than that!
neilfish2
Both are ready to go. Colston #1 Henderson #2 But, watch out for this kid Lance Moore....grabbed everything thrown his way in Pre-season. He made the team for return, is liken to the Beer Man, but he can actually catch the ball....
BOO
Should go: Colston #1 Henderson #2 Patten #3 These three SHOULD be the major players with Henderson having bigger upside for big weeks. Colston SHOULD be fairly consistent. When they go to 4 and 5 WR sets, I look for Bush, Deuce, and/or E. Johnson to be there. Copper will steal some as well. Raging Alpaca
Saints homer here. 1. Colston is ready to go. He got a little work in the last preseason game, and looked just fine. Brees has consistently shown that he likes his big, physical targets (first Gates, then Brees), so expect another great season from The Quiet Storm (kind of a lame nick, but that's all he's got right now). 2. Henderson is still...well...Henderson. In theory, he's the number two wideout, but I still haven't seen anything from him that makes me think that he's going to be a go-to kind of guy in those 3rd and 8 type situations. He still strikes me as primarily a deep threat, and accordingly will be boom or bust for fantasy players this season. 3. David Patten -- I've been pimping this guy all offseason, and I'll keep it up here. He's a perfect fit for Payton's short passing system, as he's shown reliable hands and toughness going over the middle in the pre-season. A high character guy, he's spent a LOT of time working with Brees during mini/training camps getting timing down. The big question for him is: can he stay healthy? Those of you who can afford to dump your WR5 would do well to go grab this guy before he has a potential bust out game against Indy this week. He won't set the world on fire this year, but he could quietly put up solid numbers, particularly in PPR leagues. Rounding out the crew are Terrance Copper, a decent player who fumbles too much, and Lance Moore, a KR/PR who's shown some ability at wideout in the pre-season. I expect neither to make a major fantasy impact this year, barring injury.
VikesGuy
He's a great bye week fill in at best I am hoping for a little more then that as well, i have him as my 4th wide out in a couple of leagues and i think he is going to be a great sleeper this year. The Saints just have too many weapons on the field again this year, keying in on Bush, Duece and Colston i think he is going to slip threw the cracks and put up some good games. Maybe even TJ Hous numbers ? Thanks for the Homer views! Edited September 5, 2007 by VikesGuy
BOO
3. David Patten I mentioned him, but didn't pimp him. Didn't want the cat out of the bag too soon. Colston and Henderson both have injury issues, and Patten would play a lot anyway as NO uses 3WR sets quite a bit. Payton realizes Deuce is the catalyst and Bush is fun and explosive, but man does he throw the ball a lot.

Up till now though he has only shown that he can be great at times, but his inconsistency has prevented him from taking that next step. So far in camp this year he has really looked the part & Peyton has rewarded him for it. Don't think for a minute that Peyton would hesitate to give that job to another player if he didn't think Devery was ready and with the way Patten & Moore have played so far either of them could have easily been plugged into that slot. I think the only thing you'll have to worry about this year is injuries but I think tehy'll work it out & keep him ready to play. I mentioned him, but didn't pimp him. Patton however should get a very healthy workload such as Copper did last season & be a great complimentary short yardage receiver who will be capable of putting up some pretty solid numbers if either Henderson or Colston miss time.
