Hugh 0ne
Josh McCown - QB, Oakland Raiders 9/6/2007 Contrary to initial reports the Oakland Raiders will likely start the season with Josh McCown under center as the starting quarterback for the team. Huddle Up: McCown has not looked as sharp in the preseason as newcomer Daunte Culpepper but will most likely get the nod for the Week 1 contest. Fantasy owners should stay away from this situation for now as Culpepper will likely take over the starting role at some time in the near future. Freakin' morans. alexgaddis
Did you see how standoff-ish Kiffin was when asked about the starter and refused to give info... It's like National Security to some coaches...

rattsass
Look, Culpepper isn't the sharpest tack in the drawer, and he just started learning the playbook a couple of weeks ago. McCown at least knows the system, and will allow the Raiders to use their full complement of "plays", and that is the only reason Culpepper isn't starting. Well, that and the fact that Kiffin wants to establish how bad McCown stinks, so he softens the blow for how much Culpepper is going to stink. There is a method to the madness. Menudo
I don't care who does it this week, but, throw the ball to Jerry Porter, early and often.

Agreed, but I wouldn't be surprised if Al told Kiffin to start McClown just to spite Schefter.
