polksalet
Was that a fluke play or can we look for more to come?
Cowboyz1
I picked him up as soon as Glenn went down. I think he is going to do good things this year. Not a starter but a spot player. TO worked every day with him after practice as a Rookie. He has great hands and Parcells commented about his smarts saying "Hurd knows every WR position already" and the kid comes alive when the lights go on. He made plays in every preseason game he played in. Doesn't have great speed but like Crayton, finds the open holes and can make the tough grab. He didn't get caught from behind last night when he went for 51 on a slant. Romo trusts him and will look his way.
Mystykoekaki
I still like Crayton, remember Hurd is the 4th receiver and he only had 1 catch, a good one, but one catch nevertheless. Crayton is the #2 there so I wouldn't get to giddy about Hurd just yet. Edited September 10, 2007 by Mystykoekaki
Whiskey Pimp
I heard them repeatedly say that Hurd is #4 and the only reason he's there is because Glenn is out. Once Glenn is back, he's back to #4 WR.

Whiskey Pimp
IF Glenn comes back. Fair enough but don't forget to add Witten in there so Hurd is basically the 4th passing target right now and possibly 5th if Glenn comes back. DMD
Sam Hurd is just WR depth and won't be anything more than average even given the chance. He only had the one catch last night.
missilemike
I have seen about 20 of his games in college. He is one of those players who I thought was terrible, and then he just came alive his senior year. His nickname was "the bird man". Still, I didn't see him as an NFL player, despite his good size. Somehow, NIU has a lot of decent skill players into the league... I wouldn't put a lot of faith in any fantasy production, that's for sure. cory_n_az
What'd Romo throw for yesterday? 400? Sam Hurd had exactly 1 catch....in a game Romo threw for so many yards. (which won't happen every week). Unless Witten/TO/Crayton get hurt, you won't be using Hurd.

Romo only had something like 15 completions for all those yards though but I agree with you that Hurd shouldn't be in anyone's lineup (unless you're in a 16 or 32 team league I guess).
