Pneumococcal pneumonia shots are usually given just once to people when they reach 65 or twice (at least 5 years apart) to people with certain chronic diseases or to those with transplanted organs. I got one a couple years ago, perhaps I shouldn't have. My doctor didn't tell me to get one, but they had it available then so I went ahead and got it with the flu shot. Thanks for all the info Doc!
