The Christmas 2007 edition of "Was I wrong for this?"

So there I am in the (not my wife's) Wal-Mart parking lot. I was looking for a parking space when I saw a car pulling out. I cruised up and turned in while it was pulling out. While I was turning there was a white Toyota truck which looked identical to the ones the security guards use and their flashers were not on. I sat there for a few seconds listening to the local espn affiliate. I look up and there is an older (60ish) short fat guy standing beside the door scowling at me. I roll down the window and the steps back and says.

"I dont guess you saw me back there"

I detected some sort of Midwestern yankee accent

"yeah, I saw you, I thought you were security'

yeah whatever, you saw me sitting there"

"I saw you sitting there with no blinkers"

"yeah whatever" he starts walking back to ride

I get out and he gives me an odd look and starts hustling back to his ride. I think my appearance might have startled him.

I then said "tell ya what scooter, Ill move my car if it will make you happy"

"he then got in his truck and started driving away and mouthed something intelligible out the window I said

"Merry Kripma"

So now I am hot, I go inside and wait on him and tell him he caught me off guard as I am in a sort of transitional period this fall, what with my daughter being ill and if he tries that gain I am going to lift a manhole in the parking lot and drop him into it. Unfortunately I never saw him. I came extremely close to opening the door, knocking him to the ground, and then jumping up and down on him a couple of times.

Why did I get road raged? I would never road rage someone who looks like me.

How should I have handled this??

Regardless of whether he had his blinker on or not, you were in the wrong for getting too worked up. Life's too short to be an a-hole. Plus, you've got yourself a nice family that loves and depends on you. Ergo, you're best served by always assuming you've got more to loose than the chump you're nose-to-nose with. It'd be a real shame if something bad happened to you over something as stupid as a parking spot... and a Wal-Mart one at that.
