KSUChiefsTarheelFan
I am disgusted by this and I hope this helps you to be more cautious when staying in ANY hotel. Edited January 8, 2008 by KSUChiefsTarheelFan

darin3
I travel a lot and can say with a good deal of confidence that I rarely use hotel glassware. I'll use it less after hearing about this.
DemonKnight
That's why I drink straight from the toilet. The only thing I use those cups for is an ashtray in the non-smoking rooms.
Cameltosis
I usually pour enough whiskey in them to kill whatever might be growing.
chester
I guess the question is, what are you going to do? Bring your own cup? Ask for a new one when you get there - it may have been washed the same way. Ask for a pre-wrapped plastic one? They may not have those. I'm grossed out by this, but I have to have my booze in a hotel room. I guess I'll be washing the glasses myself when I get in.

I guess at very least you wash the glass with hot water, although ultimately the water may not be hot enough to kill bacteria. I don't know, honestly. I don't booze up in my hotel rooms (only 'cuz I'm usually on business). So I usually have a bottled water or go buy a soda from the vending machine. Now that I think about it, the wife and I used the glasses at a hotel/spa we were at for New Years'.
