budlitebrad
I guess he just realized that the sooner he steps down, the more helpful it would be for his son. Letting him coach the rest of the season will give the team more time to adjust for next season.

Donutrun Jellies
Any speculations as to why? He finally got tired of his own act? He wanted to quit before his lack of control got him fired again? He's got to clean his mancave on Mount Arrogance so Bellichek can move in with him? It wasn't ever about his players, so once he got past 900, why bother? He's pulling a Pat Riley and will step back in if Junior gets the team close to an NCAA championship?
