MikesVikes
Do car warranties transfer to new owners or is a 2nd owner usually SOL? I've been told both ways on this one on the same day for the same vehicle. The dealership that I bought the car from said that I'm out of luck. The dealership that I took the car to said it's covered. I took it to the dealership that was in the town that the car broke down at. It needs a new transmission at 60K. polksalet
I once bought a new Dakota in '93. The fuel pump went out and I took it to a dealer other than the one I had bought it from. They refused to fix it saying "We are tired of fixing other people's problems". I called Dodge and they didn't seem interested in my story. It had 12k miles. Hugh 0ne
Depends: http://money.cnn.com/2007/10/02/autos/warr...ricks/index.htm General Motors' five-year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty is fully transferable to a new owner. And so are the five-year, 60,000 mile warranties offered by Toyota, Honda and Ford. If you sell your car all bets are off. Chrysler's warranty is not transferable to a new owner. MikesVikes
$60,000.00 That would be miles. But I'm hearing that transmission work can run about $2000.
MikesVikes
Depends: http://money.cnn.com/2007/10/02/autos/warr...ricks/index.htm I have a 2005 Ford. According to the dealer the warranty that I have covers the power train to 100K, while I was thinking that it was 75K. AtomicCEO
I got my 1999 Honda repaired under warranty in 2005. The original owner was someone else from CT
