Furd
Rosenblum 2006 Petite Sirah Heritage Clones ($18) Pretty powerful with good finish, particularly for price Blackberry, plum, chocolate (the gf picked that up right away). Dark, almost black. I think that with the summer coming up, it'd be great with bar-b-que ribs and the like. It also can be a tough grape to make into tasty wine on it's own (which has much to do with why it's often blended into other wines to increase color rather than made by itself). I've enjoyed the Rosenbloom and others to be sure. I remember having one from C.G d"Arie not long ago that I really liked. I've also had a bunch that tasted like thick vegetable stew, so it can be a bit of a mine field. If you buy most of your juice from a small shop that tastes everything they buy and you have a good feeling about, by all means. Just be careful of some cheaper stuff being sold at a big box store. Their Vinters Couvee Zinfandel is my favorite cheap Zin. ($8 or so out here on the Left Coast)
