cre8tiff
In a 12 team serpentine style redraft, no PPR and pretty standard scoring, would you prefer to draft 8 or 10 and why? I drafted 10 last night and did alright. I would have preferred 8, though. I tried a RB-QB-WR strategy and got Portis-Romo-Wayne. Of course, I only did that strategy because I managed to get Portis so late. (The rookies were going WAYY early in this draft). I like the 4 pick swing at #10. I would have gotten the same at 8, but probably a better 2nd RB (pick 4) than Jamal Lewis (although the people were treating him like a leper. Ricky freakin WIlliams went before him!). My team: QB: Romo, Bulger RB: Portis, Lewis, Kevin Smith, Chris Johnson WR: Wayne, Holt, Cotchery, Reggie Brown TE: Heap, McMicheal D: Ravens K: Mehlhoff Edited August 24, 2008 by cre8tiff
tazinib1
I absolutely LOVE the 1.10 and am very luke warm on the 1.8 I dread the middle picks as of after round 2, you are usually caught at the end of runs and are too early to start another. I have pick 1.7 in a draft right now and am just getting SHAFTED.
whomper
I did draft order friday for my main local that I commish. It is a 12 team league. I drew the 8th pick. I feel it is the worst pick in the draft and would much prefer the 10.

Its just getting past that 1st pick with the 1.8 that blows...you'll probably end up with Portis/MJD or Moss/B.Edwards to start you off so don't feel so bad. At 10 I am hoping that one of the RBs slips thorugh as I want the last of gore, Lynch, Porter. I only consider there 9 sure RBs so I am hoping that somebody reaches on Moss or Brady. IF a RB doesn't fall, I will take Moss, but I am afraid that is going to leave my RBs decimated. I like Lynch / TO or Wayne better than Moss / MJD or Grant. I dont put big emphasis on the draft slot because usually you do your true damage in the later rds as long as you dont do anything very stupid early on. Last Year our Wcoff team took first place in our league from the 10.
gilthorp
I think the 10 slot is better this year. In theory, there is enough RB depth so you won't need those first 7-8 picks going on a RB, but if one that you like slips to you, you get great value. I think the 8 forces you to decide in that Barber/Lynch/WR territory, and that's tough.
