justin
I've done some reading of old threads, and there is some great advice about kitchen remodels. Seems like there's quite a bit of experience here: Counterops: Granite vs. Quartz more countertop advice Refacing cabinets We are going to get new cabinets for several reasons. Question for those with experience is: Should we go with Lowe's or a local cabinet maker? I've met with a Lowe's designer and enjoyed the service and technology that they provided. I think we narrowed the product and would go with Diamond. Lowe's seems easy to work with, but I've never worked with any of the local wood/cabinet makers. Any advice? justin
Are you doing the work yourself, or having it done? I'm not doing it myself. I have a general contractor who is working on my entire apartment/home. The GC could do the work, or the other option, I suppose, would be to have the cabinet maker (or Lowe's) install. If they are all as good as the guy I had, yo won't go wrong. They do re-facing and new. Prices were reasonable and the quality is very nice. He did the whole job with a firm price not an estimate. Jimmy Neutron
You can usually get better quality and save money by going with a local cabinetry place. I'd at least look at local options before paying big bucks to Lowes or Home Depot.

Please try another zip code."
