The Irish Doggy
What an absolute wretch of a film. This film is as bad as Casino Royale was good. The story, what little there is, is total crap. The action is the strobe-light style action a la Bourne 3. Its phony action. All you have is a rapid patch of one second images and the urge to barf after a minute. Gone is the terrific opening sequence from Casino Royale through the construction site. There is no sense of danger because you can barely tell what the hell is going on. God do I hate that. Wife hated it too. Ugh, what a waste of time. :D Edited November 27, 2008 by The Irish Doggy
Chargerz
I haven't seen a good review yet. I'm staying away.
godtomsatan
It was mindless action. A few good fights and a couple of good chases. What more do you need?

tonorator
i liked it ... it picks up an hour after the first one stops and has a hugh amount of references to casino royale ... so if you didn't see that one, or it's been some time, some things may be hard to follow. the only part i didn't like was the whole water damning plot which was way far fetched, but then again, it's a bond movie. i thought the action was great! you had a car chase, a boat chase, a plane chase ... only thing we needed was a train chase. craig is still dead on as bond and dench is good as well. i didn't like it as much as casino royale because in that one you had the fun of bond becoming bond and craig had more material to work with in terms of showing different sides. in this one he is just revenge city and much colder. i give it a solid B. tazinib1
The moment Disney got there hands on the Bond series, it went to crap. Doesn't surprise me at all to see bad reviews.
muck
Casino Royale = A Quantum of Solace = B or B- ... the choppy action was very difficult to follow...and, I would have liked to have had more development of a few characters ... I'm with Ton on this one, except I don't think it starts an hour after Casino Royale, but more like the two minutes it takes him to drag White into the trunk of his car and take off(unless I'm confused as to how far he had to drive). The real problem with this film is that it's separated from Casino Royale. It's essentially another 90 minute ending to that film, which fully sets up the new Craig Bond as this essentially wraps up the first part of his origin story. Quantam has now replaced SPECTRE (thank McClory) in the new cannon. I liked it, although the scaffolding fight scene lost me, and the whole "choral induced fire sequence" was wack and way out of place, but was mercifully less than 2 minutes. If you're a real Bond fan you'll want to see it, but not again for quite some time - it's still better than a half dozen other Bond films easy. I felt it was a notch below what tono said, but he said much of what I felt. I thought it was okay, not great, but not as bad as some are saying. It really was a continuation of Casino Royale and I was a bit lost beacuse I didn't remember enough things from that Bond movie. Craig is a great Bond. The story was lacking, but I think they are setting things up for the next installment. The villian in QOS was weird and creepy, but not all that threatening. I like the idea of the evil oraganization Quantum, but let's hope it pays out over in the next movie. I give it a B- : entertaining enough, but left a lot to be desired. Ton - clearly a true Bond fan - gave him an hour to go in and bang White's wife before taking off.
