Vinatieri Is God
I've got 6 conferences that will make or break the bubble for the big guys Missouri Valley West Coast Southern Western Athletic Conference USA Horizon And here is why.................. Creighton Gonzaga Davidson Utah State Memphis Butler Those 6 teams from their respective conferences are definitely in the Big Dance already and with a very slim chance of UAB in C-USA and N. Iowa in MVC no one else from those 6 is making the Dance without an upset. Each time one of them does not win its conference tourney, that conference will grab two bids and take one away from the bubble teams in the Big 5 Conferences. The A-10 and Mtn West could also mess things up but they each have at least one team on the bubble so if some random team wins the conference tourney that will probably only knock a team from their own conference out. For example, the A-10 has URI on the bubble. If St Joes comes along and wins the conference tourney, URI is gone. Same thing with UNLV in the Mtn West. Every other conference tourney outside of the Big 5 will send only the winner. Let the games begin!!

Not sure which five conferences you're talking about, but these six are guaranteed to get multiple bids: Big East ACC SEC Big Ten Big 12 Pac 10 Throw in the Atlantic 10 and Mountain West (Xavier/Dayton and Utah/BYU should get in), and you have potentially a lot more than 5 conferences. I agree, though, this week is always interesting... A lot can happen in determining how many at-large bids are going to be left over for the middle-of-the-pack teams in some of the bigger conferences. You also have to love the fact that, every year, there's at least one cinderella team who wins their conference tournament, and subsequently punches their ticket to the dance, even though they had a sub-500 record for the year. Vinatieri Is God
Creighton throws the first wrench. Northern Iowa wins the MVC getting the conference two bids.
Vinatieri Is God
Wrench # 2. Davidson loses in the semis. 2 teams from the Southern Conference get in. Gonzaga and Butler both in the Finals looking to hold serve.

Vinatieri Is God
The bubble teams better hope that Memphis beats Tulsa, Arizona State beats USC, Mizzou beats Baylor and Utah State beats Nevada. Otherwise, all those conferences will take an extra spot. A-10 is already stealing a third with the winner of Temple / Duquesne.
