wiegie
www.nasa.gov also on NASA tv This is NASA's proposed next generation spacecraft and launch vehicle. (Note that there are some weather issues and because it is the first test launch of this vehicle, there are likely to be some delays, so the 9:24 target is optimistic. wiegie
the clock stopped due to weather (specifically clouds) Earlier the launch was postponed for a bit because a cargo ship entered the downrange area. Had it not been for the cargo ship, we would have had a launch. Edited October 27, 2009 by wiegie

jetsfan
Should we be spending trillions of dollars on this in the midst of a recession? I wish!!!! NASA is one of the few government agencies that actually does something positive for the people of the world. The NASA budget for FY2010 is $18.69 billion, the US govt budget is $2,381 billion. NASA gets 0.78% of the budget. In contrast, in 1966, the NASA budget was 5.5% of the US govt to fund the Apollo program. Today NASA operates the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, and the Constellation program with that budget. The placeholder for additional bailouts is $250 billion, tax cuts for "families and businesses" is $28.5 billion, food for thought.
