SEC=UGA
We have an MLK too and it's also half n' half. Shouldn't that be Barack Obama Ave? Edited April 1, 2010 by SEC=UGA

SEC=UGA
When I first moved to Altanta in the mid 90's I loved driving everywhere, getting lost, seeing all the sights. I noticed on a map that South Cobb Drive just keeps going and going, right into the perimeter and then out again. Cool, I thought, a new part of the city to check out. The first couple of miles past 285 were uneventful, but then it all changed very quickly. I'm not one to get overly spooked by a bad area, but I've never been more scared in my entire life. People were doing double-takes like "what are YOU doing here?", then I was approached by about 6 dudes standing outside a Church's Chicken. They seemed genuinely offended by my presence. I ran a red light and got the hell out of there. It was like another country, seriously. On a related subject, I have a great shortcut in and out of Lakewood/Hi Fi Buys, PM for details. Inside the perimeter or outside the perimeter? Not that outside the perimeter is all that great either... I don't want to know your shortcut around lakewood... number one, when I used to go there I would have been too drunk, among other things, to remember the directions. At my age now, I don't really plan on ever going back there for a concert.. I'll stick to the Chastain Park Concert series from now on, thank you very much. http://www.chastainparkamphitheatreticket....%20Amphitheatre

Some of the best shows I ever saw in Atlanta were in the smaller places like the Tabernacle, Fox, Roxy, Variety Playhouse and Earthlink Live. Sometimes Lakewood was necessary though, when Pearl Jam or Dave came to town. God I miss that city. Edited April 1, 2010 by matt770

BeeR
"It's very important that we recognize the great American heroes we have had," Gonzalez said. "We have recognized Dr. King with a holiday, and now it's important that we honor his colleague who was doing great work at the same time." Translation: "Hey you helped a brutha out with his own holiday, why not a token one of us? We need one too you racists" I wonder who will the Orien....OOPS "Asian Americans" come up with? Yo Yo Ma? Chavez
There was an uproar over naming a street after Chavez in Dallas a while back. Rule of thumb, if a street is named after MLK or Chavez...don't drive down it. You white devils best stay away from the street I LIVE on, on top of it.
