google maps of the paths of the 2017 and 2024 total eclipses

For those of you who care about this sort of thing, perhaps it is worth noting these things on your calendars:

 

2017 Eclipse Path: http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/solar...gleMapFull.html

 

2024 Eclipse Path: http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/solar...gleMapFull.html

 

(note: the paths shown are the one for the total eclipse--a partial eclipse will be visibly for very large paths outside of the narrow total eclipse paths)

 

(also note: if you look an eclipse with your naked eyes, you could go blind)

On a realted note, I took astronomy courses in college to fill my lab science credits. We would go out into a field with the professor, a 12 pack of beer and a carton of Marlboros and watch stuff until about 3 AM. I would highly recommend that you all tell your children that there is no better lab science course in college than astronomy.
