Bricktop
My league is interested in doing blind bid waivers. What is a good starting $$$ amount for everyone? Please feel free to talk about anything else special your league might do concerning blind bid waivers. As you can tell, I'm clueless. 12 man league Thanks
The Wolf
My local has a $300 cap at the player auction, followed by a $100 cap to use during the course of the season on bbid waivers. Works well for us. I think you can use any amount you want.
Scare Tactics
I think 100 or 1000 ..
irish
Blind bid waivers is really the best way to do it. I use BB and then FCFS afterward in most of my leagues. The $$ you set is really your call. I use $100 in one league and $1,000 in another.
Big Country
Assuming you are looking at money for just waivers, and not auction/salary cap type numbers, then use any amount you want so long as all teams start with the same amount. Owners will adjust their bid amount accordingly. The main difference is the number of "units" you give owners. IF you do a $1 minimum increment with a $100 start or a $10 minimum increment with a $1000 start, they are the same, but if you start with $1000 with $1 increments, your owners have 10 times as many "units" to bid with. You also have to decide if teams are allowed to trade FA dollars. Also, if you do a blind waiver period followed by a FCFS period, you should have a minimum cost tacked on to FCFS transactions. Some leagues do the minimum increment (ie $1 or $10 if looking at the previous samples) and some make it higher than the minimum to encourage more participation in the blind bid period (i.e., minimum bid in blind bid is $1, but a FCFS pickup costs $3).
