JUMbotron
http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/f...staurants_N.htm Free appetizers, draft kits, meal discounts, gift cards and contests featuring sports celebrities are among lures for "draft parties"... DMD
Having a draft at a restaurant is awesome long as you have your own room. Food and drink there at the beckoning of a waitress and some guys pay more attention to waitresses than their own team which works out in your favor as well. Everyone knows where the draft is and some places have special packages for leagues. I loved it when we used to do it in California. Heck of a lot easier. Puddy
One of my leagues held theirs at BWW for the second year this year. While we didn't have our own room they have an elevated area that housed us. Dedicated waitress...free $10 gift card each...and wings!!! Also they have beer. It works out well for sure. loaf
own room is key. it gets LOUD in bars and putting together 4 tables to have 10-12 folks sitting around...if they don't have a room. painful. We have ours in a quiet bar that has the simulated golf in the back. In the back. that's where the draft is. And we get a dedicated waitress... montster
our 12-team local is in its third year. one of the owners in the league is the brewmaster at a local gordon biersch brewery (we discovered this AFTER we invited him into the league). for our draft last week, he hosted it at the brewery -- free food, beer and soda, all we paid was the tip for the waitress. it was awesome. we were in the open, so it was hard for guys at one end to hear guys at the other end of the table, but FREE FOOD AND BEER. A local I used to be in had the draft the day before the season opener at a local bar and it was great every time.

One of my leagues was holding the draft each year at a BWWs. Usually, it worked out fine for all the reasons previously mentioned. The thing that tripped us up last year, though, (causing the Commish to move the draft this year) was the BWWs wifi went down a couple rounds in and the people working there didnt know how to fix it. Given we have some owners drafting online from out of state, connectivity is key. We ended up having it at Old Chicago this year with no problems. If one laptop has an aircard, that problem is resolved.

Scooby
sounds great if I could Romo to be the waiter:) Otherwise, I love hosting at my own house or going to other friends houses for their leagues. Free food and drinks at either venue:)
