Puddy
I was in Portland for the last few nights and had dinner last night here. Very cool place with a ton of character. Looks like they have several locations in Oregon. Really enjoyed their beer. Anyone been there before? This location was especially cool as it is a converted school. There are six different bars in the place. Big thumbs up from me.

Also a cool little cigar bar there, Bushwacks favorite place.

I thought the beer was pretty damn tasty although admittedly I was jonesin' for some since I was travelling with four women who aren't really beer people. I went to a really good restaurant the night before in Albany called Sybaris. Turns out the chef/proprietor is from Michigan. He changes the entire menu monthly (we happened to be there on the 5th which was the first night of the new menu). The sea scallops were fantastic. I did have a Bridgeport IPA which was surprisingly mild. I've gotten so used to overhoppy IPA's that this was a refreshing change. I think it was only 5.2% ABV as well. I also had a Deschutes Porter which I really enjoyed. I know Oregon is highly respected for their craft beer and I wasn't disappointed on this trip. If you have the Bridgeport IPA at the brewery in the Pearl District, they pump it straight from the tank. It's ridiculously good. The Deschutes brewery (also in the Pearl) is my go-to lunch spot (about 2 blocks from my office....when I'm actually in Portland). At any one time they have about 8 "regulars" and another 8 seasonal drafts. You can do quite a sampler tray.

KnightsOfKnee
Yes, Bridgeport and Dechustes are better breweries than McMenamins. but are not everywhere as w/ McMens. McMens were a couple of brothers who started buying up old historical properties around Oregon and converting to pubs and hotels with a twist. Props to them for not tearing down history to start fresh. But, they don't hold a candle to Deschutes.
