theeohiostate
Adam_Schefter Adam SchefterBuffalo has claimed LB Shawne Merriman. He has five days to report to Buffalo; plans to for now. He is not expected to play Sunday vs. Chic.
theeohiostate
Adam_Schefter tweetedFWIW, Tampa Bay and Miami also put in waiver claims for LB Shawne Merriman.
rajncajn
Buffalo is 1st in the waiver order, no? I would guess he starts within the next two weeks. Mostly wondering if this might mean an uptick for the MLBs.
McBoog
The leg injuries he received courtesy of the Titans cheap shots a few years back killed his career and he will never be the player he once was. Â BUT!!! Â Before we go into the whole steroid thingy, the reality is that injuries/health is what slowed him down. He tested positive for 'roids shortly after the season finished and was clean for months before he started his suspension for the following year. He then came back and had 17 sacks in only 12 games. Â Love him or hate him ( imagine most fall into the latter), he was a monster. He is not any smaller or less cut now then he was back then. Â Like I said, leg health and the cheap shots at his lower legs killed this man's career. Edited November 3, 2010 by McBoog
tazinib1
Ooops. Thinking Moss would been a better WW pickup.
luke davenport
Buddy Nix (Bills GM) helped draft him in SD. It's a somewhat desperate play by an 0-7 team that has little pass rush, and terrible LBs. But there is no risk when you're in that situation, so I'm cool with it. Except they haven't fully committed to going back to 3-4. You don't get to be 0-7 by accident.  (Although I must give Gailey some props for the offensive turn around. But they should have had Edwards/Lynch worked out prior to the season. But 0-7 is getting us closer to Luck, Mallet or Locker.

But Merriman is the proverbial writing on the wall....but more than likely what will happen is they will use a mix of the 2 schemes and maybe Merriman can have a positive effect on Maybin (doubtful)

Dustbin maybe. If Merriman could actually even get the Bills to put Maybin on the field, he's more of a miracle worker than Hellen Keller's mentor. Chargerz
I think Merriman's career is "lights out".
keggerz
I think Merriman's career is "lights out". I actually pretty much agree but then again the Bills are 0-7 for a reason (as has already been said) and I am sure they will have to find out the hard way.
