BillyBalata
Fired for wearing Packers tie By Sean Leahy, USA TODAY 7 Comments The car dealership that fired an Illinois man for wearing a Green Bay Packers tie at work earlier this week offered to re-hire him on Tuesday. But the salesman, John Stone, refused the offer. "I'm not going," Stone told the Chicago Tribune of the offer from Webb Chevrolet to return to work. John Stone was fired from a job for wearing a Packers tie. CAPTION By Jean Lachat, AP General manager Jerry Roberts told the Tribune he was inundated with calls supporting and decrying his decision to dismiss Stone. Roberts said he told Stone to remove the tie five times over a span of 30 minutes before firing him on Monday. He told the paper he thought Stone was trying to gloat to his co-workers one day after the Packers defeated the hometown Chicago Bears in the NFC title game. "If he would have worn the Packers tie on Saturday or the day before the Super Bowl, it would have been construed very differently," Roberts told the paper. Stone claimed he was wearing the tie to honor his late grandmother, also a Packers fan. He has since been offered another job at another Chicago-area car dealership. Skippy
We don't fire them round these parts. We just tie them up and dump them in anyone of three rivers.
