Footballjoe
I need to find the difference in cubic yards with these two tanks. Tank #1: 5 feet in diameter X 22 feet long. Tank #2: 8 feet in diameter X 35 feet long. If I figured correctly (using my cheat sheet) Tank #1 is 3,221 gallons or 432.0 cubic feet. Tank #2 is 13,160 gallons or 1759.3 cubic feet. So whats my next step? Subtract the results of the cubic feet and then divide or multiply by 3? Edited May 13, 2011 by Footballjoe
paulzale
Volume = pie*r^2*h 3.14159*2.5^2*22=431.97 3.14159*4^2*35=1759.3 Subtract then multiple by .037037 = 49.16 cubic yards

Hugh 0ne
Whoops, looks like I'm a little slow. But the good news is that three people came with the same number, so you can be pretty sure it's right.
