Holmes May Have Broken Rib

(RotoWire) Team trainers believe Holmes sustained a broken rib in practice Saturday, the ESPN New York reports.

Analysis: Though no official word on the severity of the injury will be available until Sunday, a potential broken rib would be somewhat debilitating to a Jets wideout corps that lacks much experience or ability beyond Holmes. At this point, Holmes appears unlikely to play in the team's first preseason game Friday, and could be out even longer if the rib is in fact broken.

(RotoWire) X-rays showed that Holmes did not suffer a broken rib during practice Saturday, the team's official Twitter reports. Analysis: Holmes is now considered day-to-day and the team will have an off day Sunday to give him more time to recuperate. The team may still elect to keep him out of Friday's preseason opener, but the situation certainly isn't as dire as it once appeared.

On second thought though do they really need a WR? Can't Tebow just throw the ball to himself? Maybe he line up out wide and Sanchez can throw it to him?

I was beginning think that Sanchez would be an amazing value at QB this year, because when dudes aren't talking about Tebow taking snaps with the punt team or running around shirtless in the rain, they're mentioning, "oh by the way, Sanchez looks really great".

Thing is, it was already a tough notion given how thin they already were at WR. This doesn't help.

How the hell did Holmes even possibly beak a rib, from breathing too hard during practice? (Poor Holmes was already whining that route running at workouts was too rigorous this summer.) He's had every chance to step up to the plate and be a legit number one receiver, but all he's done is whine, trash his teammates, and quit on his team. The only reason he had success in Pitt was because of Roethlisberger. We've already seen that Sanchez is no Big Ben. He's solidly on my Do Not Draft list.
