Chavez Posted March 3, 2005 Share Posted March 3, 2005 The way I hear it is if neither Wahle nor Rivera comes back, Clifton stays put, Flanagan and Tauscher move to guard, and Scott Wells becomes starting center. RT would probably be a derby between Kevin Barry, Brennan Curtin, and Steve Morley, with Barry having the inside track. Obviously the Barry situation is a bit troubling. That's still an OL with 3 Pro Bowl-level players (Flanagan, Clifton, and Tauscher). As for other stuff, I like Davenport as a player, but he won't start in front of Ahman Green, and, as noted above, has a tendency to get injured. You'd like to get more than a fourth for him, but hopefully Ted Thompson has a bit of Ron Wolf's mid-round genius in him. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
A Little Bit Special Posted March 3, 2005 Share Posted March 3, 2005 Good point. I had forgotten about Wells. I guess he showed enough to make Ruegamer expendable. Curtin and Morley still haven't shown anything other than potential, but I'll assume Thompson consulted Beightol before making any of these moves and was told they could do the job if necessary.
