Fragile Out For the Season?

I know the "Fragile" tag isn't likely to go away, but the fact is that Taylor has missed a whopping two games in the last three seasons. I think it's fair to say that the guy has redeemed his reputation and proven himself to be a pretty dependable option. All that might be moot if his knee problems are worse than he's letting on, but my guess is he'll be in the starting lineup in Week One of 2005.

Jones was the back-up for when FT was out last year but he certainly didn't amaze anyone. Alvin Pearman might end up very interesting.

Here is a link to a story on Pearman from jaguars.com. Like the article says, he is a little on the small side (5'9", 208) but apparently he is catching everything thrown at him. Looks like they are targeting him for a 3rd down back. He is pretty crafty out of the backfield, he had some good games vs FSU I remember while he was at UVA. Might see him on special teams too for those leagues that payout for that.

The latest rumors on fragile:

• 31MAY05 TSN on Fred Taylor : Nerves are on edge inside Alltel Stadium when it comes to the health of Jaguars RB Taylor, which could be a lot worse than the Jaguars are letting on. The team announced in January that Taylor had undergone a simple arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, but almost five months later, Taylor still isn't close to getting back on the field. Scopes usually don't take that long to heal, and Taylor was quite testy last month when pressed about his situation. The Jaguars say Taylor will be back by training camp, but that appears doubtful.
