Bonehand
There's a sendoff rally for the Seahawks at Qwest field this Sunday, Jan. 29th at 8:00 am! Should be a lot of fun, and I'm definitely going to be there. Any other Huddlers going? Please shoot me a pm, it'd be cool to hang out. From Today's Seattle Times: "Seahawks plan sendoff Sunday at Qwest Field Seahawks fans will get one more opportunity to see the team before it heads to Detroit for Super Bowl XL. A 12th Man rally will be held early Sunday morning on the North Plaza of Qwest Field. There is no cost, and parking will be free. Gates will open at 7 a.m. and the program begins at 8 a.m. The team arrives at 8:45 a.m. Also present will be Blue Thunder and the Sea Gals. Players Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck are scheduled to talk, as are as coach Mike Holmgren and team president Tim Ruskell, before the players board the buses for the airport. Cheer cards and rally towels will be distributed by The Seattle Times Co., and Newsradio 710 KIRO." Bonehand
All right, back on topic. The rally was pretty cool. I would have to guess they had a turnout of 10,000 plus. The Blue Thunder Drum corps performed, same with the cheerleaders. They had to stretch a little as the Seahawks Bus was late, prompting such scintillating patter from the MC as "So, we've got some signs here today. There's one that says "Go Seahawks..." The lame thing was that they had it all set up on the front steps climbing up to the stadium, with all the people filling in the front gates. Needless to say I got there a half hour early, but even then the gates had been cordoned off, not allowing anyone else in, with the overflow crowd half filling the north parking lot. Rally towels & cheer cards were long gone, & people were annoyed that they were standing outside a stadium that holds 67k & weren't allowed in. It was a little amateur hour. But eventally the bus arrived, with lots of raucous cheering as the Hawks lined up on the steps. GM Tim Ruskell spoke, followed By Holmgren, Hass & SA, and when Alexander closed out his portion by saying to the fans something along the lines of "You've won 10 games for us in this building, so now it's time for us to win one for you!", the place went nuts. Anyway, when it was over my 6 yr old Daughter & I were on our way back to the car & she was yelling GO SEAHAWKS at the top of her little voice, and waving her cheer card, & people were driving by, cheering & honking, It was a blast, something I hope she'll long remember. Go Hawks!

Go Hawks! 1294777[/snapback] I'm glad you had a good time, the line about your daughter.... that is what it is all about !!!!! However, 10,000 is weak, we had 30,000 at the Steelers rally. Also, I think there is a team that already waves "rally" towels, come up with your own idea !

You lose your 18-30 crowd that just went two sleep two hours prior to that after partying it up.
