NFL Flex schedule

Flex schedule does not apply to MNF. And SNF flex schedule does not take effect until after the bye weeks are done. Even if it was in effect, CBS and Fox can protect a handful of games from moving and this would have been one of them.

Ah ! What's the point of that?

Best game of the season and they can't put it in primetime? :D

And if either the Colts or Patriots had the misfortune of losing a game prior to this one the game would have still been good, but it wouldn't be as hyped up as what this is and it would just be yet another rivalry. Every season there is a "best game of the year|decade|century|ever" and invariably it's sometime other then the prime time. If you can predict prior to the season what the highest rated games will be, I'm sure CBS|Fox|NBC|ESPN would love to hear from you.

From P. King's MMQB, makes sense to me.

This matchup was a national prime time game on NBC in November 2006, but because the league likes to not play favorites with it broadcast partners, it awarded the 2007 game to CBS for national telecast on a CBS doubleheader weekend. In order to give Colts-Patriots the widest possible national exposure, the league scheduled only one other late CBS game on Sunday --Houston at Oakland. If the game does not sell out, the only major market in the country that will not show the Patriots and Colts will be Houston.

I was listening to talk radio today and they said the networks will make out tons more by having it on at 4:00. There is no competition for that slot, and everyone who likes football will watch that game. They said the network is elated to have that game at 4:00

Selfishly, I'm just glad that the Steelers don't play at the same time as the Pats-Colts......... I'm really looking forward to this one..... :D

i know.. but the browns do and they are blacking out the colts-pats game for that.. it seems like the browns games are always on during other premiere matchups.. figures their game just had to be 4:05. i will go to the bar to watch the pats-indy game with no sound. :D
