McFadden

My take is kind of like this -

I think Al Davis drafted and paid the rook big bucks and he's gonna make damn sure his replacement coach plays him... a bunch.

I think with the new coaching regime in place, we're gonna see a ton of McFadden from here on out - assuming the toe or other injury is not a serious hindrance to him playing.

I really do think we're going to see McFadden a bunch from here on out. A RB#2 with #1 potential the rest of the way. That's kinda what I'm thinking.

Agree? Disagree? Somewhere in the middle?

Cable has already said Fargas will be the work horse with DMC and Bush being thrown in the mix for big play potential.

He may have said it, but I ain't buyin'.

I just honestly cannot see Al having paid all this money for his new toy, then watching it sit on the bench.

We'll see I 'spose.

Al Davis has been spending a ton of money on anything with two legs the last few years, heck, he spent 50 million on a guy who only has one knee in Javon Walker. I think Fargas will get the touches when he comes back, as there is no use in pounding McFadden right now and taking some tread off the tires.

how's his toe?

Just read on MFL that he's still in a walking boot.

The walking boot part I get. What I don't get is the "no use pounding McFadden right now". I believe two things: 1) Al Davis is who's calling the shots -not the coach, particularly an interim coach and 2) Since I believe in my first premise, I also believe that Al Davis is gonna want to play with his new toy - simple as that. The Jamarcus Russell thing last year was Russell holding out and Davis still letting Kiffin do his thing some, that's why he didn't play yr 1.

Like I said though, if he's hurt, then I get it, but if he's not, I still think we're gonna see a bunch of McFadden the balance of the year. Time will tell.

Although McFadden played "QB" in college, he still needs work in pass protection.

For the Raiders franchise QB Russell to mature, he needs protection. So, Fargas is the best bet to get the most reps. McFadden will still get his, but his development can come later as the QB's comes first.

McFaddenhas shown enough (when healthy) to prove he is a dynamic explosive playmaker in the NFL. Fargas is still hurt, and likely to miss yet another game. Bush has also shown he has the abilty to be a factor. In the long term (dynasty) Fargas will be the odd man out I believe. In the interim, yes, he is the better all around experienced RB that knows how to pick up a blitz. The longer he sits, the better Bush and McFadden will get at pass protection.

In redarfts, it's a crapshoot. Bush is healthy, and that makes him the workhorse for the time being. McFadden will get his touches, and his injections for the toe problem, but it will limit his touches for now. I own all 3 of these RB's, albeit in differnt leagues.... Bush and Fargas in one, McFadden in another.

Yes, I think Davis will dictate that McFadden gets as many touches as possible until Fargas gets back, but when will that happen, and can Fargas stay healthy?

This week Fargas plays...

Cunning Rant, I'd be willing to bet that you have McFadden on one of your teams. Personally, I just think that backfield is way too crowded for any consistent RB to emerge. McFadden will have some big games no doubt, but decideing when that's going to be is going to be difficult. Fargas is back this week, which means we'll just have to wait and see what the split in carries will be for all 3 of those backs.

With his toe, and the backfield there's no way to count on anything consistant. I just traded Addai and Mcfadden to get Orton and Hines Ward.

You got ripped. I wouldn't admit to this trade.
