DanTheMan_5
Does anybody else want to just stick a fork in this guys neck after listening to him for more than 2 minutes at a time?

BeeR
I think it's become fashionable to hate him and most of those doing so now were giggling like schoolgirls at his antics and well after 1993. I almost never watch ESPN as IMO it's pretty much all lame as hell, so can't say for sure, but I thought last time I saw him he had toned it down some eg wasn't doing the lame Keith Jackson imitations etc. I do think a lot of the nicknames he came up with were funny at the time. Agree. I also agree with the sentiment that he's unwatchable now.
piratesownninjas
They should put Trey Wingo in his position. Wingo is awesome.
BeeR
Probably so, but to me that describes ESPN in general and even at his worst he's far better than ultra-morons like Stuey Scott, Kenny whoever, Sharpe, Irvin, ad nauseum.
MTSuper7
The worst is the predictable John Facenda voice whenever the Packers play their first cold weather home game of the year.
BeeR
John Facenda - man I miss that guy's recaps etc. I have a few .mp3s of him but wish I had all that "old school" stuff.

CountBlackula
Is anyone else ready for a REAL rival to ESPN to pop up? Foxsports focuses on regional stuff, and I don't really understand why another national rival hasn't come into play. Too much money for the rights to highlights? I watch the NFL channel a lot, but it's different than ESPN because it's exclusive to football - mostly NFL.
Scooby's Hubby
I like FoxSports (FSN) b/c they have regional channels and show 'local' teams. FSW (Fox SouthWest) is pretty much my region. Edited September 20, 2011 by Scooby's Hubby

It would cost brickloads and would never pay off. The majority of casual sports fans love ESPN and would be very hesitant to stop watching it in lieu of something new. Besides they would never be able to get rights since ESPN right now is uber-rich.

Tyler
Have to say I still like Berman and the I think Sunday NFL Countdown is the best pregame show. Watched all the others and NFL network is good but, I still prefer Countdown. Edited September 24, 2011 by Tyler
historymike
I will say this: at least Berman does not run out on a miniature fake football field and try to diagram plays with other stooges in suits.

Yep. I like Berman except for his "schtick" stuff and how he's such a shill, afraid to say anything the least bit critical.
