detlef
If you have a minute, please take a look at any leagues you're in and tell me the following: How many of the top 2 teams by virtue of best record are among the top 4 scorers? How many of the top 2 teams by virtue of total points are among the top 4 records? TIA PS, if anyone knows where I can just go look at a bunch of league standings on my own, please let me know. Det, in both my leagues the best records are in the top 4 scoring and vice versa.

Joebirds55
In my league after looking at the points for this week (final week before playoffs) the top 4 in standings are the top 4 scorers in order. Pretty weird that no one got screwed out of the playoffs w more points and that the final standings resemble the final point totals perfectly
stevegrab
Top 2 teams by record - both were in top 4 scoring (3rd & 4th) top 2 teams by points - neither were in top 4 records (1st place missed playoffs #9 record, 2nd place was the #6 record)

In 9 leagues, but in my local, the top two in wins are also the top two in scoring. Then, there is a 4 way play for two more playoff spots with less than 10 point difference between the 4 teams. About as close as it gets. Just off the top of my head, Scooby and I have two other teams where we have the most wins and most points and got byes in both those playoffs. baddfish2
How many of the top 2 teams by virtue of best record are among the top 4 scorers? How many of the top 2 teams by virtue of total points are among the top 4 records? Best record in my league was also the regular season scoring leader. However, it should also be noted that had the lowest Points Against on the year too. Second best record (me) was 5th in overall scoring BUT second lowest Points Against (just 5 more points than what was scored on the league leader) on the season. Top two overall regular seasons scores for the year were 1st and 3rd in record respectively. The second highest scorer (3rd record overall) came on strong in the final four weeks, posting record numbers every week with Megatron, Dez and T-Rich. I've always said the regular season is not about how many points your team puts up, but how many points are put up against you. There's nearly always a team near the top of the standings based primarily on the fact that they benefited in low scoring match ups throughout the year. Take my team for example, I had the second best overall record (3 games behind first and 3 ahead of third in a double header league) and yet my points for the year were about 12% lower than the top scorers in the league. Caveman_Nick
In 5 out of six leagues both marks are hit. In the 5th one of the two. (best record not among the top 4 scorers)
tazinib1
A great way to get a good concept of a team and how it is managed is to check out the power rankings. I would have lost 2 if my opponents played the correct matchups.
delusions of grandeur
Local: Top 2 records were top 2 scorers. Another team tied with them in record was #4 in scoring. Scoring fairly close leaguewide, so could have easily been otherwise. LLD: Top 2 record are top 2 scorers by a good margin. YODT: Top record was top scorer, 2nd in record was 4th in scoring. 2nd top scorer was 3rd (me) Edited December 10, 2012 by delusions of grandeur
