Kansas State 2000
Darren Sproles is looking to break Ricky Williams' Big 12 career rushing record this year. He needs 1,628 yards to pass him. That's alot of yards but remember he had 1,986 yards rushing last year (2,735 all-purpose yards). He gained more than 800 yards during K-State's final three regular-season games and the Big 12 championship. He set the school's single-game rushing record with 273 yards in a 24-14 win against Missouri, then torched top-ranked and unbeaten Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game for 323 yards from scrimmage. RUN DARREN RUN!!!!!!!!! Sproles Facts: Sproles paced college football in net rushing during 2003 with a Kansas State record 1,986 yards. It was the 10th-best single-season rushing performance in NCAA history and helped propel him to a fifth-place finish in voting for the Heisman Trophy. Sproles, who finished third on The Associated Press' Player of the Year ballot and was the 2003 Doak Walker Award runner-up, was also perhaps the nation's best all-around offensive performer during the season, leading the nation in all-purpose yardage with 2,735 yards to shatter both the K-State and Big 12 single-season records. The performance also lifted Sproles' career all-purpose yardage total to a Wildcat record 4,745 yards and pulled him with in 1,247 yards of Ricky Williams' all-time Big 12 mark. Sproles, who currently ranks No. 4 on the Big 12's career rushing chart with 3,661 yards and needs just 278 yards to move into the No. 2 position, is also expected to be a leading contender for the Walter Camp Trophy, Maxwell Trophy and Doak Walker Award in 2004. Coffeeman
Is this part of your "Heisman for Sproles" campaign? Can I also expect a huge ad on the side of a tall building here in L.A. soon, just to spite my man Leinart? No problem dude, do your thing however you want.... Meat Face
I heard that Darren Sproles was half sonic hedgehog, half kosher dill pickle. Is this true?
Kansas State 2000
Kansas State named Sproles (5-7 and 180 lbs) its weightlifter of the year after he bench pressed 411 pounds and safe-squatted 836 pounds. He also runs a 4.41-second 40-yard dash. This guy is a freak.
Perchoutofwater
There is another Big 12 RB that is closer to Ricky Williams record. This back has 255 more rushing yards, 56 more receiving yards, and 12 more TD's, not counting returns, and he just happens to go to the same school the Ricky Williams went to. I wish Sproles luck, but Cedric Benson is the man.

If they both play up to their potential, the top 2 backs in the Nation will hail from the Big 12. However, for the sake of our Sooners, I hope you've both cursed your top players . Perchoutofwater
We'll see, but I'm willing to bet that Benson has more rushing yards by the end of the year than Sproles. Your list is nice, but it fails to mention, that Sproles has played three games this year to Benson's two. Add in Benson's 181.5 yd/gm average this year, and he is ahead of Sproles. Don't get me wrong, I think Sproles is a great back, I just think Benson is better. Now that Benson is not giving up carries to Young, Benson's numbers will be even better. Sgt. Ryan
LOL, Sproles has yards rushing in 4 dif yrs now KSU, so this he did this in only 2 yrs is a complete lie. Regardless of how many, Sproles total that you are totting is over his 4 yr career including this yr, not 2 yrs like you are claiming. If you are going to argue, at least tell the truth and argue facts. If you want to only count 2 yrs, then take the 200+ yds away off his total in 01, and remove his yards thus far this yr. Otherwise save it. Besides if it isnt obvious KSU plays one of the worst non conference schedules in America year in year out. Yet they still lose to unranked teams like Fresno St and Marshall at home. Besides KSU this is essentially what you are bragging about Sproles vs Western Kentucky 42 carries 221 yds Sproles vs Lousiana Lafayette 37 carries 294 yds Thats 515 yds in 2 games vs a Div 1-AA team and another team that is a complete joke. Then Sproles faces a team outside the top 25 at home, but obviously tougher competition and this is how he fairs. Sproles vs Fresno St - 11 carries for 37 yds. So basically KSU you are bragging about Sproles racking up yards vs Div 1-AA teams the past 3 yrs in non conference play. Embarassing.
