I was in a league like that. Couldn't take anymore and bailed a few years ago. One of my leagues has each team start a coach, getting 4 points for a win, 2 points for a tie and 0 for a loss. Makes less difference now that we have PPR and decimal scoring than it did when we were non-PPR and TD-heavy, but it's still fun when it determines an outcome.

I co-founded (and now co-commish) one that's going into its 9th year and has worked out great. There's no reason why the auction format can't work with keepers. We can only keep up to 4 per team, so at least 80% of players are back in the auction each year. This means that while some teams start with a better foundation than others, everyone still has a chance at a strong year if they auction well. We don't do long-term contracts; instead, given that we have 20-man rosters with a $250 cap, to keep someone, you give them a $5 raise if their previous salary was less than $20 or a 25% raise if their salary was $20 or more. Each team gets $100 for blind bidding waivers; for undrafted players, their salary becomes the price it took the get them in blind bidding. For players who were cut and then reclaimed during blind bidding, their salary becomes the higher of their draft price or the price it took to get them in blind bidding. We tweaked the rules quite a bit in our first few years, but haven't made any major changes in a while.

My CBS league did have the outcome of a close game reversed after stat corrections earlier this year.

RT Lane Johnson was suspended for the first 4 games, LG Evan Mathis got hurt Week 1 and C Jason Kelce got hurt Week 3. 3/5 backups today, 4/5 backups in the second half of Week 3 because LT Jason Peters was ejected. Johnson returns next week but Mathis and Kelce are out until Week 10 or so.

Trade Cameron instead. He's overrated.

During 2007-2012, the Cowboys had one of the best rosters from 1-10 but one of the worst rosters from 11-53. Now they have one of the worst rosters from 1-53.

I'm co-commish of an auction league. We can keep up to four players. Our rule is, for each day your keepers were late, you are docked one keeper slot. For example, our keepers were due on a Tuesday this year and one owner blanked until Friday. He lost one keeper by not submitting by Tuesday, another by not submitting Wednesday and another by not submitting Thursday. When he finally remembered on Friday, he could only declare one keeper, which he did.

The only advantage to not keeping 4 is having more money available for the auction.

Assuming Forte is available, just take him if he falls. Odds are he produces close to what the other three do, especially in PPR. He also gets the goal-line looks in the Trestman offense, which was not the case before.
