Artest out for game 2

I missed game one, so I can't really say whether I agree with the suspension. Is this the right move by the NBA, or is this a "ploy" to ensure that San Antonio wins the series. After game 1, I'm not sure the Spurs need any help, but I am curious what people think who actually saw the two "hits." The one that cost Artest 3 stitches to his lip, and the one that cost him game 2. Any thoughts?

I was pretty much kidding about the "ploy" comment. They were talking about it this morning on a Sacramento sports radio station, and they for the most part thought it was fair, so it must have appeared to be an intentional hit. I do think the NBA would rather not see any team with Ron Artest on it succeed in the playoffs, however. Not that he didn't bring it upon himself for the most part, but I think past history weighs into any decision the commissioner makes regarding his current/future behavior. If Tim Duncan or Lebron throws that same elbow, I'm not so sure they get the one-game suspension.

I like the way Artest plays, I hate the way Ginobli plays.

I love it when in blowout playoff games, someone from the losing squad takes a forearm and says, "You aren't leaving unscathed!".

That said, the suspension was probably deserved.

I have no use for the way he let his team down by letting his personal frustrations get the best of him rather than stay focused on the team's objectives. :D

Ron Artest = Terrell Owens of the NBA. Super talented with the brain of a gnat.

Sacramento goes out and takes the Spurs to overtime and loses* while Artest was watching in street clothes. They now have no chance of winning the series where 1-1 with homecourt may have been a different story. He's such an idiot.

* Sacramento should have won anyway, but choked at the end of regulation.

This is a team of boneheads. Artest goes out for revenge after his bloody lip and gets suspended.

Bibby "loses track" of the Spurs' 3-point specialist with a 3-point lead and under ten seconds to go. I know Bibby is not exactly known for his defense, but in that situation, you do whatever it takes to make sure they don't get off a 3. He would have been better off putting Barry in a bear hug as he went through the lane and putting him on the line.

Brad Miller admits that he has "lost all confidence" and adds that he thinks it's the Spurs' length that is bothering him. Idiot. He should be benched indefinitely. SAR and Thomas are more effective post players anyway.

With Wells, Martin, Thomas, and SAR playing well, I actually think Sacramento has the better depth and overall talent of the two teams. Whether or not they can win a best-of-three series in which two are on the road is another story. I think they can, but they can't afford to have another let down like game 1, or give away another game like game 2. My gut feeling says San Antonio in seven, with the Kings left wondering what might have been had they won game 2. You only get so many chances to steal home court in a series against the defending champs, and game 2 might have been their best chance when it's all said and done.

Agreed- Spurs will pull it out in 7, really don't see any scenario where SAC can actually win a game 7 at SA. Fun series thus far- I LOVE watching Artest, guy is crazy, but a he11 of a player. Watching him destroy Bowen is hilarious- Both Ron Ron and Bonzi are too strong for Bruce. He is overmachtched by both of them, love watching him whine like a baby- is there a more unlikeable player in the NBA than Bowen?? Stuff he has pulled with Ray, VC and others- such a punk.
